Just so y'all know, there's a Blu-Ray release of the original 1995 "Ghost in the Shell" coming on the 23rd, and the first half of "Arise" is coming to Blu-Ray in October.

Yeah as much as anime has an awful reputation right now there is a ton of really, really incredible work, especially in older stuff. Ghost in the Shell had some top notch animation and Akira as well I think is still one of the most gorgeous movies ever made.

She wasn't naked in the original movie when she went invisible. If you look closely she was wearing a skin tight, almost skin colored suit that provided the thermo-optic effect. There is a noticeable collar on her neck that reveals it's a suit and not just "being naked".

Huh? No, the seam is from where she pops her head onto the stealthy version of her body. You know, like a lego.

Actually in a later scene Motoko Kusanagi and Batou are spending rare leisure time on a boat. Towards the end of this scene we see both of them wearing casual attire and Motoko's neck can easily be seen from multiple angles and degrees of proximity and no such line as the one seen in the Thermo-Optics chase earlier can be found. This shows that she is not naked but wearing a special suit designed for her needs.

Ok I'm gonna stop.
