If you complete the first Skulltula illustration, you unlock an awesome "Rewards Map" seperate from the Adventure Mode map. The first mission in the Rewards Map is really, really good for farming weapons, materials, EXP, rupees, and unsealing skills on weapons. The monsters are super easy for any character to kill and the 6 generals start off neutral and surrounded by enemies, and since they're neutral they won't go lower than 1%. So you can just farm around 1000 kills for weapons, materials and stuff, then go recruit a general, kill the other 5 super fast since they're at 1% hp, get their silver/gold materials or weapons, and kill the boss. Every time you clear it you get a 40k rupee bonus, and if you have a weapon with Slots+ and Stars+ on it and a potion from the apothecary you can get really good weapon drops. It's my favorite mission for just fuckin' around and lazily killing stuff, stress-free.

Good to know, even though I'm a ways away from that (I only just unlocked Zelda since I'm trying to take things slow and chip away at Adventure Mode).

Edit: Unlocked the Great Fairy. Her attacks are super fun and she would be my favorite character to use if it weren't for the fact she is so goddamn slow. Even at full speed it feels like she's going at walking speed :psyduck:

This is mostly because she's huge. As far as I can tell, she travels at the same speed as everyone else... but she's about four to five times bigger than everyone else, so she looks like she's going slower due to the scale difference.

You can see how scale affects apparent speed in games that let you zoom out - just try playing an MMO zoomed all the way out compared to all the way in, and you'll feel like there's a speed difference, even though there isn't.

If they add in the Wario family of characters, then they might have a decent library of heroes.

Mario
Luigi
Peach
Donkey Kong
Wario
Waluligi
Daisy
Mona
Ashley
8-Bit
Yoshi
...and more.

While along with Bowser can use the other final bosses or the Koopalings as other enemies.

Fire Emblem is the most obvious series to do a Warriors game with. I don't know what the hell you do with Metroid anymore. The space rail shooter is thoroughly covered by the space animals and isolation and solitude is too core to the game's concept to do like a 4X space strategy thing. You'd basically have to reinvent the series even to license it to somebody.

I was playing the game last night and because I'm a huge idiot who loves wasting time I spent a bunch of time not playing Legends or Adventure and instead just going into Free Mode and grinding out some of the "Kill X Enemies" skills on weapons. I could just play the other modes to unlock better weapons but w/e.

Anyway, on one of my Fire Rods I got Bombs+ which says it powers up bombs when you kill enemies. After futzing around with it for like 2 minutes before going to bed, I didn't really see it do anything. Anyone know how it works?

You don't need a ladder to get Agitha. Just go around from the north and use the water bomb.

I wouldn't be at all to see a Fire Emblem Warriors a year or two down the line. There's already a cross-over coming, Hyrule Warriors got a really good reception, and Awakening is about as anime as games come so it's right up Koei-Tecmo's alley. I'd play the poo poo out of it.

Here's my baby, level-23-with-only-Darunia-and-Midna-unlocked Adventure Mode stages I've played on so far. The one left of the starting square I really looked for that heart piece for awhile, but I need a break. I think I'm going to focus on Legend Mode and just make sure to get all those heart pieces, containers and skulltulae. I'm sure this, my personal gaming experience has been interesting to all.

Is it asking for Links sword? I made the mistake of using the Master Sword for that the first time, but I think it's asking for the Hylian Sword specifically. I ended up using the wooden 8-bit sword I got from beating Legends.

I already grabbed her, but for the longest time the game wouldn't let me play the map where there was a single tile of water separating them. Not until I beat Cia in Legend mode that it let me play the map.

I should, but I'm too slow :( I'll barely get to play this week and I've only really unlocked that small segment I linked earlier.

The thread is definitely free to make copies to edit and share until we hive mind fill-in the thing. Maybe comment each square for which keep to take for heart pieces, etc. There is obviously no need to credit me for putting some colors in a grid if anyone makes it better enough for an actual FAQ/walkthrough kind of thing.

It means your bombs will auto-powerup all on their own after you kill X amount of enemies. I don't know how many X is but I'd wager around 200-500. Not played with it much.

Legend Mode 2nd Skulltulas are not one of the ones where you gotta do X amount of kills without taking Y mount of damage. For instance, the first one needs you to seal both mentioned keeps before activating the fairy fountain. ("Enact ???'s (Zelda's) strategy while halting the enemy's advance!")

With the second skulltala thing in legend mode, you can use a higher level version of whatever weapon is displayed, right?

I love the prizes that are based on taking keeps because typically you have to take most of them in adventure mode just to score the 1200 kills and in Legend mode, you have all the time in the world to take them and it is satisfying to fill the map with a pleasant blue.

Yup, it just has to come from that category. Which is why the Master Sword doesn't work for Links sword requirement, but the 8-bit one does.

The hard mode skulltulas have special conditions, you can look at what they are by going to Warrior Info in the pause menu. For your other question, the Goron costume is unlocked from completing all five illustrations.

I wish I had the time to play this as much as you guys. I love it. Reviews have been strangely low, I thought, mostly 7s across the board. The highest I've seen is an 8.5 which I think is close to the mark but I'd probably give this game a 9. I would think it would get repetitive, but somehow it just hasn't yet.

That's Dynasty Warriors in a nutshell, from what I remember from having roommates who played it endlessly. They just have an excellent way of varying things just enough so that it always feels like you're doing something different, and the character advancement and unlocks are spaced just enough apart that it always feels like you're working toward a goal.
