Today I'm... amped up!

Victus - Way behind everyone else

Ugh...

Victus came to back in the cargohold of their ship. Ravaged packs of lho-sticks and tatters of porno magazines lay strewn about the ship as if some unholy Khornate/Slaaneshi cross demon angrily searched through them shouting "LHO FOR THE LHO GODS! PORNO FOR THE PORNOGRAPHIC THRONE!"

Clearly, he missed out on something amazing.

Nevertheless, Victus was determined to make the best of a bad situation, late to the party though he was. Gathering up the remaining porn and lho sticks, Victus felt that he could probably have a good time at the market and try to obtain all manner of sharp and nasty implements. He needed two blades, not one, though the one he had might not be so bad after all. Poor quality though it was, it was still a power weapon.

Alright, time for acquisitions. Victus is going to try to get the following things:

1. One NQ Chainsword. He knows where he can get a better one, but he might be a little reluctant to try to obtain it by force after the last time. (Base 15, +0 Quality, +10 Availability, +10 Single = 35)

2. Repairs for his Carapace Armor. He already has a complete set on him, it just needs to be fixed. No idea how you would want to roll for that, but my Infamy is 15 if that helps.

3. One NQ Power Sword. We're reaching here, I know. To do this, he'd be willing to try to trade in Erika's Power Sword to get it. If I can't get a NQ Power Sword, then I won't be trading it in and will continue to hold onto Erika's bad piece of metal for the time being. Base Infamy is 15, modified by Tzeentch knows what for the trade-in.

After his [successful/unsuccessful] shopping trip, Victus feels rather [pleased/disappointed] with the results. Strolling down the streets of Kanro, he happens to walk into a bar called The Drunk Shark...

Alright, frajaq. We'll take your bait. Maybe my character will live to see through it this time! If it helps, I am decidedly not going to attack first this time, if at all. It's Erika's situation to control and do with what she'll please. I'm just back-up in case things go south. I'll be more than happy to exchange pleasantries with the Ork this time, though. And by pleasantries I actually mean words, not swords.

#acolyte GM of 2014

Gozer and Keraun against a furious centaur mutant.

The centaur mutant realizes his devastating charge will be interrupted and tries to assume a defensive position, swirling his hunting lance in the air against the incoming khornate marine. The brutal uppercut swing of Keraun's chainaxe is blocked as sparks fly out. The centaur's muscles visibly strain as he attempts to push back the marine from the assault, but as powerful as the mutation made him, he's no match for Astartes physiology as a final burst of power overpowers his parry.

The legion chainaxe carves a giant vertical gruesome gash at the left side of his face, making his carapace helmet spin in the air and mutilating his right eyeball off. He growls in both fury and in pain at serious damage, but to his credit, he doesn't waste a second at trying a counter-attack thrusting the explosive tip of his lance at Keraun's neck. The marine sees this coming and quickly his chainsword to swipe at it away, even the weapon being the in the poor state as it is, his own skills are sufficient to account for its shortcomings.

(Flesh Render 3rd dice gives you a Zealous Hatred. 1 IP spent for Unstoppable Wrath.)

Just as the centaur recovers his momentum to swing again, Gozer huffs as he catches up with them. The mutant, missing his right eye doesn't notice until too late. Gozer deformed Hand of Khorne easily bypasses the carapace armor protection at it's waist with a savage horizontal slash, the cruel claws carving deep inside the centaur flesh. He suddenly staggers back, and looks completely confused as he looks down and sees his guts spilling out from his abdomen into the cold metal floor. He barely has time to twist his head at the khornate heretek before the finally collapses on the ground, unmoving.

Ariston, Zegasi, Bazroth and Lucius against some rude fellows.

Sparks continue to fly out as Ariston and the chaos marine captain continue to unload their grievances on each other. Power sword and power sword meet repeatedly, and when the Veteran starts a flurry of attacks he learns that the enemy is skilled as well, your first swipe is dexterously parried and turned against you as he swipes the attack away and swings his blade down on your chest. Ariston quickly brings his boarding shield against the marine, and it saves him from damage, although at the cost of the shield itself, as the enemy power field carves it neatly in half.

Ariston "avenges" the shield pretty fast however, two furious follow-up swings from his own blade without losing momentum. The blade carves deep wounds in both his arms, his right one coming pretty close to being eviscerated. Realizing his opponent is highly skilled in melee combat, and Ariston boasting wasn't actually empty, he switches to his bolt pistol with specialized ammunition as he aims at the Veteran. The enemy captain pulls the trigger on the semi-auto as the gun roars to life. Ariston's Mark 6 power armor aids in avoiding the first shot, as it explodes on some poor random castaway in the circle around it, the bolt round hitting a thigh and making catch on fire. The Veteran is not so lucky on the second shot however, as it explodes in his left arm, the flammable gel covering it and lightens up. The flame roars but you maneuver pretty quickly to avoid the fire from spreading. Your once relatively pristine grey Mark 6 armor now has a nice scorched battle scar on it.

(Swift Attack hits 3 times, first once is parried and the captain has Counter-Attack. The Counter-Attack succeeds but your boarding shield blocks it, although it is destroyed due to Power Field. The 2 attacks hit and he's at 3 Wounds. You received 5 damage and passed the agility test to not be on fire.)

Bazroth and the marine second-in-command struggle as one tries to continue to ground the other, while the Word Bearer tries to break free. With a surge of strength Bazroth pushes his astartes physique to the limit as you break your enemy's iron hold on your body. The enemy marine is momentarily pushed back and you take advantage of the respite to quickly grab your crozius on the holster. You swing your blessed weapon at the enemy, the swing coming from the left and striking exactly at his power helmet, the powerful impact breaking it's visors and severely deforming it.

Blood starts leaking from the split metal as the enemy drops on the ground completely stunned and prone.

(You win the opposed strength test and hit the enemy on the head, getting a ZH on the way. He only has 6 Wounds left, and is Stunned and Prone.)

A familiar sensation surges within Zegasi as the sorcerer starts to see short glimpses of the future as he's charging the sniper marine. The psyker simply knows that the enemy will be forced to avoid his strike, even if it his chainsword doesn't hit. And that's exactly what happens, with a swipe at his hands holding the stalker bolter the sniper has to roll back to avoid his hands from being mangled. He grunts in frustration at not being able to use his gun, dropping it to the ground and grabbing his own chainsword to strike against Zegasi. He tries a feint from the left but you easily see through it, as you bring your blade to block the real stab from the right.

(You win the opposed WS test when he tries to Feint and parry his follow-up attack.)

The severely decayed arco-flagellant is but a shade of his once former self, since it's been ages since he received any kind of maintenance. Still, he's a deadly machine nonetheless. Lucius the Devourer wisely chooses to try a feint attack, knowing the enemy is extremely agile. Behind his death-mask, the flagellant tries to accompany the nurglite movements. When he thinks the Death Priest will stab at his now-spent drug pumpers he rolls away to the left, exactly where the nurglite wanted as you sink the late Plaga's plague knife into his arms, the putried blade immediately causing severe necrosis on the wound location.

The arco-flagelant starts to stagger a bit as the infestation spreads to his body, but it's not like the actually cares about any kind of pain. He swings his electro-flails at the priest, the flexible electric deadly wires impossible to block with a blade, you try to side-step but some of the flails hit your chest. You manage to hold against the electric discharge that goes through your body, and realize the arco-flagellant actually got the worst of the attack. Your own acidic blood was violently ejected when the flails teared off some of your skin, and the enemy got the blunt of it in his head. The acid dissolves the pacifier helmet and is strong enough to corrode the enemy brain, as it starts to leak into the ground. The enemy spasms for a few seconds on the ground before remaining completely still.

(You received 5 Damage and resisted the Toughness test to not be Stunned. Your Toxic trait actually manage to kill it.)

Erika the Red, Pandora and Victus at the Drunk Shark.

~~A few moments earlier~~

Victus realized how rare some commodities in Furia as you exchange all the remaining lho-sticks packs and crappy porno slates for a fully functioning chainsword and spare carapace armor parts to fix your broken ones. The castaways guys you traded it for were completely thankful for it, anything to get their minds off this horrible depressing planet. On any other world of the Screaming Vortex trying this exchange would get you laughed/pitied at, if not something worse. But on Khorne's Ocean World? Desperation takes control of everything.

And so you didn't end up much surprised when you simply didn't find a suitable human-sized power sword for yourself, in any of the stalls or alley dealings you came across. Still, a fully functional chainsword is better than nothing. Now equipped, you walk towards this Drunk Shark bar you heard so much about here in Kanro...

~~The present~~

Inside the bar, the Ork Kommando stays silent for a long time, glancing his feral red eyes between Pandora and Erika. He scratches his chin before finally speaking again. "Alroight hummie gurl, you interested me and my boyz. You bettah have some space in dis Rust Wave of yourz! Wez not leaving Sky Git behind and it's juice supplies are low... And before anyfing, I wanna meet dem rest of you crewz, so I knowz I ain't taking my boyz with a bunch of pansy hummies. And if you even think about backstabbin' me on this dealz of ours..." He grabs his blade quickly, way too quickly for a ork of his huge size should. He points it at Erika's throat, from his side of the table. "Youz gonna regret it real bad, little hummie..." before sinking his special choppa back on the metal table again.

As Victus turns a corner he finally finds the sight of the Drunk Shark. He blinks his eyes once as he comes to grasp the situation, all these bodies, the renegade marine impaled on a wall near the huge metal doors... and orks?? You feel your blood burning for a second as you match your gaze with the Mek-Boy. The very same ork you meet before on their sinking ship, when your unfortunate incident with his Kommando leader happened.

The Mek-Boy returns the gaze, squints his eyes and becomes surprised as he recognizes the human renegade. "Oh Zog me! It's dat hummie again. Boss! BOSS!!" he rushes from the impaled marine power armor he was tinkering about to the metal doors, opening them completely. Victus recognizes Erika the Red and the Ork Kommando Nob which so humiliated him before sitting on a table, with some new woman he never saw before.

The Kommando already starts bellowing at his subordinate, slamming his huge fists on the table and sending drinks everywhere, raising from the seat. "GEARZOB YOU GIT, I TOLD YA TO KEEP DEM DOORS CLOSED! WHAT ARE YOU DOIN-" he interrupts himself at the sight of Victus, and he finally smiles for once. "Oh! Oh ho ho I see it now. This day just got a lil' more interesting... Is he one of yourz, humie Erika? OY HUMIE, YOU CAME HERE FOR A SECOND SCRAP? I still got yer trinket right here, GRAHAHA!" the ork Kommando pulls out something from his backpack. And Victus instantly recognizes his original chainsword, miraculously in perfect condition.

I'm in the business of...
Absolution
Bazroth, Word Bearer

The Word Bearer's two or three steps towards his fallen opponent were slow and deliberate. Placing his foot on the marine's chainaxe, he looked to the crowd, pointing his weapon at them.

"They sought to make fools of us. To deny -you- a chance to follow us to glory. And to have you join them in their suicidal stupidity. What do they deserve, sailors?"

I should just coup de grace this dude, but I figured that even if the newly inspired castaways don't finish the job for us, it's still +10 WS to the other PCs, and thematically appropriate.

So, I'm using a Full Action to Inspire Wrath on all 250 castaways, and my comrades, and anyone else walking around that can hear, spreading Hatred:Leaders of the Devourer like a virus. TN 90, thanks to the Icon. Willing to spend IP to re-roll failures.

Fallen Rib
Ariston the Hekatonkheir

Ariston's bellow of rage as the other Astartes' blade sundered his shield was loud enough to shake the deck beneath their feet, the power field carving it in two and rendering it useless for anything but scrap. On any other world, on any of the countless campaigns that he had led, such a loss would have been inconsequential, but stranded here amidst this vast, oceanic wasteland every resource was precious.

He tossed the remains of the shield aside with a sweep of his arm, sending it slamming into an incautious bystander with enough force to knock them off their feet, then quickly drew his knife in its stead. His foe's response was equally swift, drawing his bolt pistol and snapping off a pair of shots. He avoided the first but the second detonated with a roar against his arm, bathing it in flames. This time there was no furious bellow, no deck-shaking rage as the concentrated incendiaries scorched his armor and burned his flesh. Just as an exploding star became a black hole, Ariston's anger had coalesced into a singularity, cold and quiet and all-consuming.

With a deft maneuver he prevented the fire from spreading further, silently glaring through the lenses of his helmet as the two Astartes circled around one another, his knife flicking out again and again like a striking serpent to prevent the captain from drawing a clear bead on him with the pistol. "A bold move," he said, a hint of approval lying beneath the malice in his voice. "A true warrior fights only on his own terms. He dictates the ebb and flow of battle as he sees fit, and discards petty sentiments such as honor. And a cunning warrior knows to always bring a bolt pistol to a swordfight."

As he circled around the captain, Lucius came into view over the other Astartes' shoulder. His gaze met the Nurglite's as the man stood triumphant over the rotting remnants of the servitor putrefying on the deck and he gave him the barest of nods...then quickly surged forward, lashing out with his knife and fading back just long enough to goad his opponent into an overextension before his power sword came crackling through the air in another blindingly-fast pattern, all while keeping the Astartes' back towards Lucius. "But a triumphant warrior knows that victory goes to the one wise enough to bring reinforcements to a duel!"

RIP boarding shield, you were too good for this cruel world. Okay, that was my own dumb fault for parrying a power weapon with something un-powered, easy come easy go.

This time around I'll 1). Feint and 2). Swift Attack once more. This time my WS is at 60 since I'm not aiming, +10 if I get that bonus of Bazroth's, but my parry is still 70 thanks to the power sword being Balanced (80 with the bonus I think maybe, I actually don't know what all it applies to). I have only the one Infamy Point so I'm reluctant to spend it in case I need it (the life of a hoarder) but I WILL spend it if, say, the Swift Attack whiffs utterly. Damage 1d10+16E Pen 6.

That said HEY FIRESIGHT, come on over here and shank this rear end in a top hat in the kidneys. If he does then we both get that sweet +10 "ganging up" bonus, plus focus fire. You can eat his body afterwards, it'll be great.

Zegasi

Zegasi watched his opponent intently. It was do-or-die here, even if he'd not wish it so. "Come now, 'brother', do you think that I came to the office of Librarian without learning how to make judicious use of distance?" The two watched Lucius and the arco-flagellant from peripheral vision; evidently the Death Priest carried the same backlash in his blood as Plaga's ogryn guards. "Or a proper savvy for allies? There are more important things for us to do than to squabble over petty disputes."

The sorcerer's attention flickered to his staff, and he focused to maintain control. "After all...united we stand, divided we fall."

More of Zegasi being Zegasi. :v:
-Free Action to use Precognitive Strike at TN 60.
-Half Action to Feint at TN 60 (base), +10 (hatred) and/or +20 (PS) if they come up.
-Half Action to Swift Attack with the chainsword at TN 60 (base), +10 (hatred) if it comes up.

Also having a power weapon might be nice to either keep until I can fix/tweak my staff, or to bargain with to shortcut the same. Or just to pass on to what's-his-name-new-guy.

Lucius the Devourer

A good enforcer had many skills. He could fight like the best, he could lead men, he could do any task he was asked to do without a moments hesitation. And most of all, he knew how to listen to his employers monologue and extract necessary orders from it, even if it wasn't directed at the enforcer. Initiative was what separated an enforcer from a minion, when it came down to it.

Lucius was a good enforcer. One of the best, in his own opinion. So when Aristons speech began in the midst of combat, Lucius knew that his position as the Hekatonkheir's Enforcer was secured. The Traitor-Marine now viewed the mutant as an extension of himself, a hand that wielded an extra blade... a blade that now flashed towards the captains back.

Move behind Ariston's opponent and standard attack at WS 50 + 10 for standard attack + 10 for ganging up. WS 70 to hit, 1d10+4 damage pen 2, Felling 4 and Toxic 3. Ariston, Zegasi, Bazroth and Lucius against some rude fellows.

At Bazroth's incendiary words, the hundreds of castaways around the unorganized circle of brawl roar in approval at the sight. With a mere glance the Word Bearer notices that the crowd he attracted grew even more than before. While some of the new castaway faces are there just to see an interesting and amusing fight, some of them are of ship-less man and woman seeking for a way out of this planet.

(250 interested castaways jump to 300. All four of you get the temporary Hatred:Leaders of the Devourer)

The kneeling marine in front of you recovers his strength as he manages to pulls his chainaxe from under your armored boots. Still a bit groggy from the terrible blow in the head, he nonetheless gets up and assumes a defensive position. His vox voice comes out slightly distorted, due to the damage from his helmet. " *HIZZ*-of a bitch. This isn't over ye*HIZZ*. That arrogance of yours will be you und-*HIZZ*"

Injured as the enemy captain is, him being so close to death's door brings an unexpected combat clarity, as he easily reads Ariston's movements in trying to trick to an disadvantageous position. When the Veteran starts his flurry of deadly thrusts, the enemy marine deflects them easily, each blow connection perfectly. At the last stab he tries a counter-thrust that flies very close to Ariston's neck, but nonetheless does not connect. With swipes from the left, right, up and down, the marine tries to defeat Ariston's, but the Veteran blocks all the attack. Power sword and power sword meet repeatedly as a stalemate begins, the two marines dancing around the metal decks of Kanro.

Lucius waits for an opportunity when the captain presents his back at him. The small window of opportunity appears and the nurglite does not hesitate, rushing to Ariston's aid as he stabs with his plague knife from behind into the left leg power armor joint. You sink the blade with all the strength you can muster as the captain yells in agony. The stab itself not the cause of such pain, but whatever malevolent toxins and acids inside the nurgle-blessed blade start to work, rusting the section of the armor and causing severe infection on the wound.

The captain has just barely enough strength to turn back to Lucius and stare him down with every last drop of hate left in his soul, before his eyes turn white, he foams at the mouth and simply collapses on the metal floor.

Seeing the vague threads of the future in his mind, Zegasi forces the sniper marine to his limits, as the enemy tries to keep up with the relentless fake-outs. This, together with the sniper noticing his own boss just got killed, gives the advantage the Sorcerer needs as he slashes the enemy twice with his chainsword. The first swipe carves a gash in the enemy armor breastplate, tearing off a respectable chunk of meat, but its the swipe at his leg that causes the most damage. The sniper is almost brought to his knees as meat and bone are ripped apart from the savage blow, and massive amounts of blood start to pour out.

(Feint works, swift attack hits, first attack does good damage, second gets ZH on his leg, he's at 3 Wounds and has Blood Loss)

The sniper takes a deep breath and a weak voice comes out of his vox at Zegasi "ENOUGH! Enough. You're right sorcerer, this is pointless. My leader proved himself inferior to yours. I surrender." He lets his chainsword drop to the metal floor and kneels down.

The marine next to Bazroth yells at the sniper. "YORIAL! YOU MISERABLE COWARD! You call *HIZZ*self an astartes? At least go down *HIZZ*ting! The gods look down on *HIZZ* fools like yourself! I always told our lea*HIZZ* that you didn't *HIZZ*rve to serve in our ship!"

The sniper turns to the chainaxe marine "Known when to learn defeat Brutallus! This fight... is theirs. Stand down too if you know whats good for you! I'm no use to the Powers dead." The other marine grunts and refuses to let go of his defensive position towards Bazroth.

Fallen Rib
Ariston the Hekatonkheir

In the end the Captain of the Devourer proved to be a surprisingly worthy opponent after all. But not one skilled enough to defend himself against two opponents at once.

Ariston laughed as Lucius' blade bit deeply into the Astartes' leg, pestilence swiftly overwhelming even his enhanced constitution and laying him low, veins of black corruption visibly spreading through his diseased flesh as he choked and gurgled his last breaths upon Kanro's rusted metal deck. "Excellently done," he said, nodding approvingly as Lucius tugged his blade free from the corroding ceramite. "That trophy rack of yours will be richly appointed before this day is through. Take whatever prizes you wish, feast as you will, but leave the armor's power source to me."

With that the odds were now two-to-one on their favor, and he watched as Zegasi's opponent wisely opted to surrender rather than fight, though he hardly trusted the would-be sniper to not make another attempt on his life given the opportunity. That left the wounded Astartes still facing Bazroth defiantly. This diversion had proven to be a fruitful one but Ariston was swiftly growing tired of further delays and his reserve power was dwindling dangerously low, so he sheathed his knife and drew his bolt pistol, the weapon roaring as he wordlessly and contemptuously put two bolt rounds into the recalcitrant warrior's back.

Yeah I could just stab this guy and it might be more efficient but sometimes you're just sick of someone's poo poo. Double-tap with the bolt pistol, BS 50, +10 for aim, +30 for point blank IF IT MATTERS, otherwise I'm willing to waste two bolt rounds just to make a point out of this guy.

Ariston's bolt pistol roars as the two bolt rounds explode in his chest consecutively, the marine staggers back, drops his chainaxe and kneels. He looks down on the two craters in his front armor, as his two hearts stop working due to explosive fragments rupturing them. He looks at the Heretics and his vox opens, but he simply collapses on the ground before saying anything.

The sniper marine stares at his corpse and says nothing, merely shaking his head at the sight.

"It is not the Gods you should concern yourself with,", Ariston said, holstering the smoking bolt pistol as the other Astartes fell to the deck, as dead as his Captain. With that he turned to the gathered crowd and raised his power sword triumphantly into the air. "Crew of the Devourer! You serve new masters now! Men and women of Furia, you long to leave this miserable world as we do, and leave it we shall! Those who would sail with us, who would fight with us, who would conquer with us, gather your belongings, muster all the food, fuel, and ammunition you can find, and make ready! You!," he barked, gesturing towards a knot of scavengers with a sweep of his blade. "Gather up these wretches and deliver them to the Rust Wave, corpses and all! Even the servitor! I will show you the way...I have business of my own to attend to there," he said, chuckling.

Zegasi and Bazroth can do what they want with the survivor smart enough to surrender, me and presumably Lucius are gonna be LOOTIN and EATIN. Assume that Ariston links back up with Gozer and Keraun once Werix and Dyne get around to finishing up their scene. We have prizes!

Erika grins. Despite his threats, the ork was actually going for it. Now to close the deal. "Perfect. There should be room for your kopter on the main deck. And trust me, there's quite a few badasses on my ship, including what's-her-name over there. " Erika motions to Pandora at the bar. "Yeah, you, you're in, like I said."

Which is when Victus stumbles in. Erika stares in disbelief. "Victus, of all the frigging bars to show up in..." She turns back to the Ork. "Yeah, he's part of the crew. I'd like to think the 4 Space Marines we've got make up for him. Let's not be hasty about fighting each other, now: we've got plenty of things to kill in our future and there's no reason to go wrecking a mutual chance to get off this hellhole." Gozer looks down at the centaur mutant as his blood and guts spill out into the salty air, the smell of blood mixing with the ocean breeze. "See my new friend, do not be this kind of worshiper of Khorne. Fight intelligently, not stupidly, and you shall have a long life of pleasing him. " The heretek then bends down over the still dying centaur, and begins to dip his non-mutated hand into the still warm chest cavity, and tracing runes on his gifted hand.

Lucius the Devourer

Grinning widely enough to show his teeth, Lucius turns his eyestalks to gaze over the crowd. Oh it was good to have an employer again, especially one with so much drive to conquer. "All of you, listen up. You have your orders. Follow them to the letter, and you can get off this planet when we leave. I'll be honest with you. If you try and run off, and, well, the best you can hope for is that my eyes aren't on you and you find yourself sitting back in this shithole of a tavern while the rest of us make it back into space. Worst case, I get to eat you. Just like I'm going to eat your old boss here. Speaking of which, I need some of you to strip him of his gear, put it in a pile, and then lug the corpse back to the ship for me. NOW GET MOVING!"

She kills the rest of bottle, pauses to see if it'll make her blind again. Nope. Okay. She gathers up the tradeable bits behind the bar, still intact bottles and whatnot that the orks don't care about, and heads out to pick up last minute supplies.

She stares at the clusterfuck on deck and whistles. Usually poo poo like this didn't go down until after she had already gotten there. Still, might be a chance to pick up some firesales, literally.

Victus

Taking Erika's glare into consideration, he nods deeply. "Indeed, Ork. You have bested me before in open combat, which tells me first that you're bigger and second that you are tougher. I've no desire to meet an early grave like this..."

Victus looks at the dead Space Marine body next to him, and gives the dead head a small kick.

"This idiot right here. My last near-death experience with you taught me that I rather enjoy living, thank you very much. But how can I put it in terms that you would respect?"

Victus ponders the question for a moment, trying to decide how he can put it in simple, yet violent terms.

"I like living because living allows me to keep killing people and keep having good fights. Besides, I don't imagine you'd let me live another day if we fought again and I lost..."

Just then, a strange thought occurred to him.

"Besides, together we can kill a lot more of these marines than we could by ourselves. And the more of us there are fighting, the bigger and better the fight, right?"

Victus looks at Erika. Hopefully she can see that through the skull mask, Victus' expression is trying to say "That was good enough, right?"

That had gone perhaps marginally better than Zegasi had expected. He sheathed his chainsword, then extended a hand to the fallen Yorial. "I shall call you brother if you would call me the same. But first...you are in need of urgent medical attention, and considering that I am the cause it is only fitting that I assist you in what way I can. Unfortunately..." The sorcerer looked about, considering his available comrades. "Neither I nor my immediate comrades have much experience in the medical arts. Bazroth, might I borrow more of your eloquence to hail a doctor?"

Dunno how you want to handle the business of Blood Loss. Strictly speaking Zegasi can use Medicae untrained, making the relevant TN to staunch it to be TN 20, whereas Yorial has a 5% chance of dying per round by virtue of Larraman's Organ. Considering that I've got one of the higher Int values in the party it seems like a good idea to diversify in the future.

Also if I can I am keeping this guy for whatever frajaq will permit.

Ariston, Zegasi, Bazroth and Lucius near the slave market.

The sniper marine nods in gratitude at the Heretics when Bazroth's new found influence finds then a "doctor" with a semi-working medicae servitor in one of the shops of Kanro. While the work is shoddy, the sniper marine blood loss has been stopped for the moment. "You have my thanks, for what little it is worth. Take me to the Devourer so I can break out the news to the rest of the crew about what happened." He leaves all his weapons with you, as expected from a recently defeated enemy as the Heretics separate from the moment.

Lucius fearsome appearance full of grisly trophies helps in ordering some of the newly acquired castaways to hurry the hell up in carrying the corpses and equipment back to the Rust Wave while Ariston makes sure no opportunist bastards in Kanro mess with this small looting caravan. Desperate as people were in Furia, even a few corpses ready to be scavenged would be targets in a city like this.

Bazroth and Zegasi follow Yorial, new random castaways and some of the Devourer convinced crew back to their home-ship to check out their new acquisition. The Devourer is a bigger ship than the Rust Wave, as expected. Painted in a now-faded crimson it looks to be in remarkable poor condition, with a few pieces of scavenger equipment hanging lose here and there. You realize just how scarce people with technical aptitudes are in this wretched world. True to his word, Yorial explains exactly what happened to the Captain and the other officers, as does the crew that witnessed the brawl. Still there are a few grunts of discontent at this so sudden leadership take-over, and doubts about the random castaways Bazroth's words influence brought with them.

Nevertheless for the moment they agree to follow the two Heretics orders, and Bazroth and Zegasi make them move the Devourer to the same dock the Rust Wave docked, for the sake of easy coordination in whatever further endeavor the group wishes...

Erika the Red, Pandora and Victus at the Drunk Shark.

A brief display of emotion appears in the Kommando Nob face at Victus's words, perhaps disappointment? The orks then grunts something and smiles at the Renegade "Yor right humie, we'z leave dis for annuva day maybe..." he then turns to Erika and Pandora. "Alroight, I'm cunvinced now. GEARZOB! Ready the Sky Git." He gets up from his seat and motions for his Boyz around the bar. "We'z getting out of this boring place with a bunch of humiez! Form up and get ready to move out!"

After the Heretics give direction of which dock Rust Wave is located, their massive Helikopta lifts up from the Drunk Shark's roof, making a ridiculous amount of noise on the way. For the sake of avoiding a violent confrontation with the castaway crew, Erika the Red, her bodyguard and Victus go aboard with them. If the Ork Kommandos just showed up at the Rust Wave by themselves, its natural that a bloodbath would have occurred.

Pandora watches the Helikopta soar away as she begins to walk to the markets, carrying a backpack full of amasecs looted from the bar. She still had a few things to to get before getting to her new-found associates ship.

Pandora at the markets.

While searching the metal stalls on Kanro, Pandora realizes that regular ammunition is relatively plentiful even on a forsaken planet like Furia. The quality of most of it is poor, however, most of them manufactured locally by the desperate castaways with tiny amounts of technical knowledge. It takes a good amount of time to find AND barter with your looted booze supplies to find two clips of Manstopper rounds for your autogun, as is a medkit in working order. As much as you tried to search, a survival suit in decent condition proved itself impossible to find.

With this extra equipment found, you make your way to meeting the rest of the crew in the Rust Wave...

Gozer and Keraun in the repair stalls of Kanro.

With the blood of the brutally murdered centaur mutant, the Heretek Gozer carves symbols of blood power in his mutated Hand. The symbols briefly smoulders as it is created and you feel pain, but the good kind of pain. The rune of victory leaks some blood but soon recedes, a black mark ready to be used as you will it. Nothing else to accomplish, the Khornate duo packs their things and return to the Rust Wave, where you both imagine the other Heretics must have finished on their own business by now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone returned at Kanro docks, the Rust Wave and Devourer on the same pier.
The Devourer docks awkwardly near the Rust Wave, Bazroth and Zegasi surprised to see the Helikopta that escaped the ork voidship sinking a week ago landed on the Rust Wave. Zegasi recognizes both the Kommando Nob and Mek-Boy from their little adventure when the warp spit him out in the greenskin ship. Erika the Red and Victus stand between the Kommandos and the castaway crew as they explain the situation. The sniper marine turns to you both a bit puzzled. "You got xenos mercenaries with you? Reasonable enough but I don't know how the crews will take it. Even so far away and separated from the Imperium, mankind always has a mistrust for the alien..."
Lucius, Ariston, Gozer, Keraun and Pandora arrive roughly at the same time at the pier, with Pandora quickly realizing that they were the rest of the crew and explaining her presence to the four of them. The Death Priest and Veteran were expecting the Devourer but the orks presence comes as a surprise, the opposite occurs to Pandora. Meanwhile for the Khornate duo, the two new reinforcements come as unexpected, but Gozer recognizes the Kommando Nob and Mek-Boy.
The castaways dump the bodies on the pier between the two ships as all nine Heretics assemble in the middle to discuss the loot and current situation. Yorial comes down from one ship and the Kommando Nob from the other, they keep their distances but watch with attention whatever the Heretics are about to discuss...
Finally I got over my kinda-writer block about Outcasts. I realized that the game is still "low-level" but now moved up a bit in scale, if that makes any sense. With the fuel acquired by Gozer and food supplies from the Devourer, assume you have enough food and fuel for whatever location you desire, for now.
Loot: Devourer Captain's body - Fully Functional Power Armor with Recoil Suppression sub-system.
- 1 Legion Power Sword
- 1 Incendiary Bolt rounds clip for Bolt Pistol
Brutallus's Body - Full Power Armor without a Sustainable Power Source, power for 3 hours.
- 1 Legion Chainaxe
- 3 Legion Frag Grenades
Arco-Flagellant Body - 2 Electro-flails
Yorial's Equipment. - 1 Legion Chainsword
- 1 Stalker-variant Bolter with a clip of Kraken Rounds
- 2 Legion Krak Grenades
Warband Situation and Problems
Devourer - Scavenger Ship
-Bigger and more durable than the Rust Wave
-The ship itself is in a terrible state compared to the Rust Wave, will require intense maintenance and a skilled pilot at the helm to be effective.
-350 Castaways, a mix of original crew that witnessed the brawl or didn't, and a few random castaways that followed Bazroth's and Ariston's words. A true rabble with poor equipment and training, they have regular morale due to you guys accepting Yorial's surrender. He's aiding in helping the crew adjust to this sudden change of leadership. Nevertheless figures of authority/enforcers are necessary to keep them in control.
-50 of these castaways have scurvy and are below fighting potential.
Rust Wave - Scavenger Ship
-In a decent state due to Gozer's help, minimal maintenance is required, as is a decent pilot at the helm.
-60 Elite Castaways, the original Rust Wave crew. Their equipment is good (by Furia's standards) after the looting. After the Heretics drilling and training, they are a cut above the rest in both skill and loyalty.
-Sky Git, the Ork Helikopta with Mek-Boy pilot.
-40 Kommando Boyz led by Kommando Nob (I don't think anyone asked his name yet)
-50 mutant slaves, the enslaved crew of the Dead Shark. Even their small nurglite mutations helped them in their survival so far, even in terrible conditions.
Ariston the Hekatonkheir
While Ariston and the others had been off securing supplies, a power source for his armor, and a new ship and crew along with them, it seemed that the rest of their makeshift warband had been far from idle themselves. Not only were dockhands and slaves wrestling crude crates full of salted fish and barrels of promethium aboard the Rust Wave but the ship had been infested by Orks as well. It took the quick words of a keen-eyed castaway, Pandora, to convince him that the xenos weren't there to plunder the ship but to join them on their journey. This Pandora was joining them as well apparently, having been recruited by Erika along with the Orks. The scars and markings on her body told a story, as well as the ease with which she comported herself while surrounded by xenos and Astartes alike.
The Orks would be trouble, he knew. Even the most tractable members of their primitive species were violent, ill-tempered, and murderously impulsive. Were he besieging a fortress or plundering a basilica he would begrudgingly employ a mercenary Ork warband as a distraction, but to remain aboard an ocean-bound ship for an indeterminate amount of time...at best they would turn on one another out of boredom, at worst they would turn their attention towards the ship's crew. Erika seemed convinced that they would prove their worth though, and even if he were to object it would mean a long and bloody battle removing the Orks from the Rust Wave that would leave them battered, stripped of their resources, and quite possibly without a ship by the end.
Then there was the matter of their new ship to consider. "This vessel is in as sorry a state as its former Captain," Ariston rumbled as he assessed their newly-won prize moored beside the Rust Wave. It was larger, true, but even to someone not versed in the rites and mysteries of technology it was apparent that the ship was in a state of disrepair. He had no doubt that Gozer could restore it given ample time and resources, but as gifted as he was the bloodsmith was but one man and the Devourer was a large ship. Still, it was sea-worthy. As long as it saw them through to their destination, Ariston cared not if it sank beneath the waves thereafter. "Lucius and I will maintain order among the crew," he said to Pandora. "I can tell at a glance that they lack both discipline and skill. I will teach them both. Those who prove unable to learn will find that there are other ways they can be made to serve."
As the latest additions to their warband laid the body of the Devourer's former Captain upon the Rust Wave's deck he sought out Gozer as the bloodsmith oversaw the infusion of supplies and followers with unblinking eyes. "I have finally secured a power source," he said with a chuckle, indicating the slain Astartes. "Among other prizes. I trust there should be no difficulty making the necessary repairs? If we are to venture into the Grasp on this foolish errand of Erika's then I shall at least be battle-ready when we do so."
Bit by bit, piece by piece, our galaxy-conquering army grows.
Since Ariston is the only marine in our party who really gives a poo poo about ranged combat I call dibs on the recoil suppression system as well as the power source. If NGDBSS wants to keep doing his telekinetic shooter trick he can snag the inferno rounds for his pistol, otherwise I'll happily take those too. Basically I am greedy, give me all the stuff.
Gozer
Gozer and his astares comrade return to the Rust Wave, hired menials carrying the drums of promethium he has acquired with is hard work. He was surprised to see the new ship parked near by, but not as surprised as seeing the Greenskins and their flying machine there. Gozer didn't like it; orks could never be trusted, and had little to no useful skills for one as Gozer. He did not have the concerns against working with xenos as other humans, but some races were of more use than others. Eldar had useful knowledge, tau had interesting technology, the Necron had both, but Orks? Orks were nothing but destructive scavengers bent on destroying technology only to be build up in their own mockery of how technology should function.
He gives the orks a glare from under his hood while her surveys the other ship. That it could be classified as sea-worthy was an understatement. The crew was even worse. He was no Biologos, but many seemed under-nourished and near death, how they were still alive a good question. He boards the Rust Wave and gathers with the rest of the command staff. "I do not like any of this. The orks will just as soon kill us and rip apart our vessel than help us. I would never have consented to such an arrangement. I would suggest we not take them along, but someone went and let them on board; it'd cost us precious men and material to evict them."
He then sweeps his hand towards the Devourer. "Speaking of, what are we supposed to do with that thing? It looks barely sea-worthy, and the men are a mess. Trying to provision that vessel with our hard earned fuel and food would only have us watch it slip under the waves. It's only saving grace is the large number of crew we can use as inevitable sacrifices to get off world at the Grasp. We are heading for the Grasp still, right?"
Erika the Red
Even after taking a ride in the Kopta, she still wasn't sure how that many orks fit into it. Not that it wasn't cramped; she and Victus had spent the last few minutes wedged between two stinking greenskins. At least the drat thing hadn't just shaken apart in midair. After it landed and she'd finished explaining the orks' presence to an understandably disturbed crew, she surveyed their new acquisitions: one junker ship and a truly massive crowd of half-dead locals. Wonderful. She walked over to the others.
Erika crosses her arms in annoyance. "The trip to the Grasp isn't a foolish errand, Ariston, it's a way off the frigging planet. Besides, I don't think our little fantasy of enacting a possession ritual there is going to work. There's warp anomalies, but it's aligned to Khorne and full of daemons; they won't just stand around and let us enact a ritual dedicated to their mortal enemy. I say we should do the ritual wherever we end up. Anyway, that's why I'm bringing the Orks along; if it didn't involve a brutal fight all the way to the portals, the locals would be clamoring to go there instead of quaking and kissing their charms at its name. And don't worry so much about them; they know there's a fight and loot coming to them at the end of the trip.The Orks remind me quite a bit of the Freebootaz I made occasional deals with before I came to the Vortex. They're reasonable enough. For Orks."
She turns and point in the general direction of the Devourer. "And as for that...vessel. Is it even worth stripping for parts? We certainly can't take all of those crewmembers along without it, and I think we'd have a riot on our hands if we told them all to piss off and started disassembling their home. As much as it pains me to give up anything we've stolen, it might be easier to just hand it over to that Space Marine, Yorial or whatever, and just wash our hands of it."
Ariston the Hekatonkheir
That Erika's endeavor would serve to spite Khorne upon the Blood God's own world was, in Ariston's mind, a convincing enough reason to see it through, but Gozer would doubtlessly feel differently about the matter. For a Khornate the bloodsmith was almost unnaturally level-headed, but he was a Khornate nonetheless and Ariston was all too aware of how petty the Dark Gods could truly be when slighted, particularly by their chosen. He had no desire to visit misfortune upon the tech-priest, as much as it would please him to spit in Khorne's eye for the indignity of stranding him here.
"I would as soon have the Scavenger Lord's head on my trophy rack and a voidship to claim as our own, but if the Grasp truly offers freedom from this exile then I will not refuse it," Ariston said. "I agree with Gozer that Orks are not to be trusted, but also that it would be far more trouble to drive them away now that they are on board. They will have the opportunity to earn their keep soon enough. However I believe I have an idea to address your concerns with our latest prize, unorthodox though it may be. Orkish technology is crude and ungainly but the xenos have a surprising gift for keeping it functional beyond all odds or rationality. Allow one of their 'Mek Boyz' to affect repairs to the Devourer then. The vessel need only last us until we reach our goal, and it will also serve to keep them from attempting to do the same to the Rust Wave. At the very least the creature can do no more to worsen the ship's condition than its former Captain permitted."
Yes, my plan is to let the Mek Boy repair/upgrade the Devourer while we sail into the middle of the daemonic Bermuda Triangle, I see no flaws with this whatsoever.
Orks violate the basic tenets of reason with everything they touch, and there's nothing I like more than breaking rules. Except for necks, maybe, the cracking sound..."
Pausing to wipe a little drool off her chin, Erika turns to Pandora.
"Sorry, got a little lost there, Slaaneshi thing. Forgot you weren't here earlier. Here's the rundown: after we stole our ship from its unworthy previous owners, some crewmember we were interrogating mentioned two ways off this planet: the spaceport belonging to the guy we nicked the Rust Wave from and The Grasp, a giant hand-shaped...thingy, a few weeks away, which contains portals to other worlds. We were planning on performing a Ritual of Possession there so that I could regain my lost power all the sooner, so that I could in turn leverage that power to assist our little warband into stomping everyone we dislike into a bloody stain. The chance to escape and to locate an active warp disturbance for the ritual seemed too good to pass up...at the time. There is no way to even be certain that these rumored portals even exist, but our options are limited. The only other means of escape from this planet is through the city of Skyreach, under the control of the self-styled Scavenger Lord, where a star-port lies. Either approach is equally treacherous, and equally as likely to prove fruitless even if we should succeed, but inaction will not see us free from this wretched exile. Gozer nods, "Yes, Ms. The Red has done a good job recapping this for you. I advocate for the Grasp; while I am not a psyker, I am very, shall we say versed, in the warp and daemons, and I should be able to enact a ritual at each location allowing us to know where the portal goes before taking it. The downsides of this will likely be having to fend off daemonic entities aligned with the God Of Blood, if the barriers between this world and the Immaterium are as thin as the legends indicate."
Gozer absently rubs the rune on his blessed hand before continuing, "I feel that it is a better chance of escape than Skyreach. It will likely be heavily defended, and the Scavenger Lord will probably not part with his void-ship so easily. Also, most voidships capable of warp travel would not be able to land on a planet, assuming this world exerts gravitational forces equivalent to a normal planet it's size, and the fact that it is a world made entirely of water that has no discernible depth, does not effect the assumption." Gozer jumps up and down a few times, "No, it would seem that gravity is acting normally. So any voidship that this Scavenger Lord has is likely not warp capable, which means we can go from being stuck on this world, to being stuck above this world. I advocate for the Grasp as our best, though treacherous, method of escape."
He turns to Erika, "as for your ritual, I am still of the Opinion we could do it at the Grasp. Yes your god is opposed to the Patron god of this world, and I am a worshiper of said Patron, but I think that if the veil is as weak as the locals say, it would overcome those impediments. Also enough sacrifices from the other ship would go a long way towards greasing the wheels. I would only suggest we find the portal that will be our escape before your possession ritual."
With the looted power suits in decent condition and non-corrupted like the Raptor way back in the voidships wreck, it is relatively simple for the pieces to be spread around Bazroth and Ariston as they need it.
Ariston finally hears the subtle hum in his hears as his Mark 6 corvus armor is finally powered with dignity. No longer you hear the beeps in your helmet as it warns you of the battery levels dying out. It's practically music to your ears. You maneuver a bit with a the recoil supression system in your gauntlets, with a boltgun in your hands you feel confident in your aim even single-handed, freeing up your other hand for whatever weapon you desire.
Bazorth takes a few moments to adjust having a new helmet in the suit, meanwhile you flex your gauntlets, feeling the power armor strength return to you. You feel a bit more complete, while the runes in the visor are a bit different than the ones used in the Word Bearers Legion it doesn't take long for you to understand them as the autosenses start up and you get field data inloaded into it. With the helmet being a faded blue and the gauntlets white, they are quite at odds with your original suit crimson, but beggars can't be choosers. (You get the +20 Strength bonus from Power Armor like normal now.)
Gozer and Pandora look at the Stalker-variant bolter as they plan what exactly to do with it. The two would hardly be the first to try to make an Astartes weapon usable by humans. The sniper weapon looks a bit more complicated than an usual bolter however, so it will take a bit of hard work to do it.
Anyone can try to pass a Common Lore (Adeptus Mechanicus) -30 or Forbidden Lore (Adeptus Mechanicus) +0 test to try to figure out the Forge World that the Stalker Bolter was produced, making the tests below easier to modify it by +10. You can make up the Forge World name/model mark/configurations of the weapon if you pass the test.
To modify the Astartes Stalker Bolter into something an human can use (as an anti-material rifle like Ronwayne wants it and only usable while Prone), roll both a Tech-Use -30 test and a Trade(Armorer) -20 test. Depending on the DoS the resulting weapon may or not have Overloaded Frame.
As Yorial related before, there are around fifty of the Devourer's castaways that have symptoms of scurvy and other health-related issues due to malnourishment and other factors due to living on a scavenger world like Furia. Even basic medical skills would be enough to help remedy the situation, even if temporarily.
Anyone can try a -10 Medicae test to help the 50 Castways below fighting potential, depending on DoS, the more castaways "cured".
While the Heretics continue to plan around themslves, troops and slaves move in and out of the ships transporting supplies and the like, as the two ships ready themselves for voyage to a dangerous destination, but one that can signify escape from the Ocean World.
Quite rapidly, the sunny day with the crimsons skies soaking Kanro's docks in red fades away. The open skies give way to grey clouds that move quite erratically, with red lightning crackling above, a few bolts hitting the vast ocean. The Heretics notice that both castaways and slave stop on their tracks, worried expressions on their faces as they suddenly pay much more attention to their surroundings, and more importantly to the waters below. You all hear rusty sounds of gears moving as ramshackle lascannon turrets pop out from Kanro's borders, with more minor manned turrets appear made from scrap metal, all loaded up and ready for action.
With a single look at the waters of Furia you notice something wrong, from the usual dark blue they are suddenly a blood-like scarlet, and not just the waters surrounding Kanro. As far as the eye can see on the horizon, the blue World Ocean has turned red from quite nowhere. Your castaways on both ships are now quite nervous, some touch primitive charms for protection, others pray for the Blood God favor in the times to come, they whispers between themselves while they ready their weapons. One of the Rust Wave's castaways then proclaims quite loudly: "Another Season of Blood approaches! LORD OF RAGE! GRANT US STRENGTH TO WITHSTAND THE TIDES OF VIOLENCE THAT WILL SURGE FROM THESE RED WATERS!" he then pulls a knife and carves a crude symbol of Khorne in his scar-covered chest, many of the other castaways in all ships following suit.
Way behind you, the loading bay-turned elevators of Kanro go into full lockdown mode, sirens blazing at whatever is to come. They shut tight, leaving anyone at the docks, like yourselves, to your own luck...
That warm and fuzzy feeling.
Pandora Fiasco
It was like being back home! Esp the part of being on a creaking metal monstrosity surrounded by gross people who thought hygiene was for assholes. "gently caress's sake...at least don't pick at that..." she disinfects and ties off yet another set of wounds and sores, collecting usefull looking scrap in payment that she can hopefully hammer together into some protective gear later. And whoop. "What the gently caress, don't cut yourselves I just cleaned...oh boy...."
Test for armor: v 63: 6 (1d100=6)
<frajaq> you manage to scrunge up AP 4 Flak Armor with no helmet GovtCheese
Medicae test on crew: -10 penalty +20 medikit +63 Int
v 63 medicae: 7 (1d100=7)
Gozer/Werix, I can Assist on the tech use roll to reduce the penalty by 10 and add 1 DoS, but sadly I didn't take the one useful trade skill (other than maybe chymist) so you're on your own there
Ariston the Hekatonkheir
Ariston laughed triumphantly as the telltale hum of the power source he had claimed filled his ears, the warning runes in his helmet's display winking out one by one thanks to Gozer's expert tech-smithing and the ineptitude of the Devourer's former Captain. "And once again I am ready to wage war without end," he said, flexing his gauntlets and testing the feel of his new recoil compensators. The Corvus-pattern armor was still a bit too delicate for his tastes, but it was a far cry from the nearly depleted and unscarred vestments of a week ago.
With his armor finally restored and a full store of ammunition, he was beginning to feel much more like his old self. Though he was still weakened from his betrayal and subsequent resurrection, he could feel his skills slowly but steadily returning to their former height. His treacherous brother-self no doubt thought him dead or lost to the Warp, of no threat to him and his grand designs. Ariston would teach him the error of his ways, and afterwards he would burn a path across the galaxy to quell any false hope that the rumors of his demise might be true.
So lost was he in thoughts of vengeance and conquest that he almost didn't notice the sudden change in the skies overhead until bolts of red lightning began stabbing at the ocean. The last time the weather had shifted as abruptly as this it had heralded Keraun's arrival, but no vessel descended from the skies this time. Instead klaxons began to wail and all along Kanro's walls rusty, makeshift turrets began to sprout like sores, armed with everything from lascannons to what looked like crude black-powder bombards.
He briefly considered the idea that someone within Kanro had taken offense at his disposal of the Devourer's Captain and that this was their response, but quickly dismissed it. All the attention seemed to be focused outwards, towards the ocean. The ocean that was suddenly as red as blood. A clanging sound told him that the dockside elevators had been locked down, stranding them on the outer edge of the docking ring.
Something was coming.
"Defensive positions!," he roared as he quickly grabbed Plaga's heavy bolter from the Rust Wave's deck, vox-grille amplifying his words above the screaming sirens wailing all around them. "Weapons at the ready! Your wretched souls may belong to the Blood God but your lives belong to me, and I will not relinquish them so easily!"
Gozer
Gozer takes the Stalker bolter up in his hands, making sure to eject the clip and visually inspect the chamber just to make sure it is not loaded. Even then he points it at the water and pulls the trigger, just to make sure. When the weapon does not discharge, goes to disassemble it with all the speed of a mechanicus that has spent his life around weapons and lore, doing a field strip that would put an astartes to shame, and then going further and dissembling most of the parts. He looks around the weapon trying to locate the manufacture of the device, to better know its peculiarities.
Cl ad mech will be at a TN of 56: Cl Ad mech TN of 56: 1d100 77 and I fail to identify the forge world of origin.
Not familiar with the makers marks on the weapon, Gozer jumps into trying to modify the weapon for use by lesser creatures. Having some of the crew stripped of their autoguns, Gozer gets to work on modifying the grips and trigger mechanisms from the smaller weapons to function with the bolter, while also trying to find a way to make the stocks work on the stalker bolter. Fashioning the modifications to the bolter is difficult, and a worthwhile challenge, given that he still does not have a dedicated workshop.
Okay the Tech use TN should be 66 (int)+20(tech use)+10(combitool)+10(utility mechadendrite)-20(testw/help)=86
Tn on the Trade (armorer) should be 66(int)+20(trade)+10(combitool)-10(testw/help)= 86
TN tech use 86: 1d100 78
trade armorer TN 86: 1d100 21
Okay, on the tech use I got 3 DoS because of +2 from unnatural Intelligence, on the trade armor I got 8 DoS, for a total of 11 DoS
Gozer finishes modifying the weapon just as the lightning comes down and the water begins to change colors. Gozer sifts through his memory cogitators, seeing if this looked like anything he had seen before or read about. Many rumors swirl about this planet, and based on the stories he'd heard, they were likely overdue for a Leviathan visit.
Let me count the tests I'd want to use, FL warp, SL Astromancy, occult CL The screaming vortex, and well, I got infused knowledge, I know all Common Lores and Scholastic lores. My TN on them would be 86 (int of 66 and the good quality brain implants give me +20 on all lore tests)
Pillbug
Erika the Red
Erika had spent most of the downtime barking orders and making sure the crew properly loaded the supplies, taking a few breaks to swing around the new chainsword and get a feel for it. Her spirits were high...at least, until the seas and skies turned red and lightning started crackling down. That didn't seem like a good sign. Neither did Kanro locking the doors. Erika starts moving for cover and glances to her Furian bodyguard. "Serge, is this as bad as it looks?"
