I have put together a categorised list of all the Campbell Newman news articles that I have archiving over the past few months/years. I have tried to put a little message to consider voting minor party or independent this election but if there is a better way to word it, let me know (as well as any other feedback).

A clear table of contents with links at the start would be an invaluable addition too. Great work! Lizard Combatant fucked around with this message at 11:20 on Jan 7, 2015 |

Registering my disgust at Newman, hopefully my birthday present will be voting his corrupt, fuckwit arse out on the street. It'd be a nice salve for moving to this godforsaken state, anyway. If anyone could make those minutes into something easily sharable on social media it'd be awesome; I'd love to push it through every channel available to me but I don't have any talent in that area or faith in the audience being able to digest something that complicated.

Struck off the roll because I live overseas but instead of voting Campbell Newman out I get to have a 'flat top' in an American Starbucks. I really like David Marr so I hope it is tolerable. More than a year since I've had a flat white come to think of it. Oh another thing I haven't had in a year is lamb; Americans don't seem to eat it much at all. Some seem to think it's somehow fancy as well. There is this burger place near where I live and each month they have a new 'exotic meat' (usually ranging from things like goat to ostrich) and a couple months ago it was lamb. Edit: IMPORTANT! If you are a Queensland resident overseas and will be on Election Day go to the ECQ website to apply for a postal vote. You should be able to apply online rather than using a paper form since time is of the essence. If you are moving around a lot there are a bunch of Consulate-Generals and little consulates that have been opened up in places like Denver and Chicago and Honolulu so go on the DFAT website and give them a call ASAP. You may need an appointment first for one of the smaller offices like Denver. Links: http://www.ecq.qld.gov.au/2015QLD.aspx?id=11880 (includes postal vote application) http://dfat.gov.au/missions/ (click on the relevant mission link to get information. Like I said some are small offices with limited services and require appointments so call ahead) http://www.aec.gov.au/Enrolling_to_vote/pdf/forms/overseas/er016osw-0813.pdf (You can enrol to vote from overseas as well, can also be uploaded directly to the AEC website http://www.aec.gov.au/enrol/send-form.htm so do it now!) Anidav posted:So what's the deal with Northern Ireland? Are they socialist or something, why so anti-Israel? Because the Irish suffered heavy persecution at the hands of the British and were forced to slowly cede their land to a culture that viewed them as inferior and was dedicated to wiping them out. They were forced to fight a bloody war against an aggressor that was vastly stronger than they were and that was bent on their relegation to the history books. So yeah, no idea.

Yeah, that's probably why. Sorry, I've never researched Irish history past the separation between the monarchy. In other news, the QLD Greens probably need web designers. I'm not one of them unfortunately.

Anidav posted:Yeah, that's probably why. Sorry, I've never researched Irish history past the separation between the monarchy. Nah, that's fine. Particular for a politics website. Links to polices is front and center, impossible to miss. Has a clear navigation bar at the top which as far as I can see remain through out each page. A search function (which actually seems to work pretty decently) is included in the navigation bar, and all the main sections that a candidate would want to highlight (about, volunteer, donate, contact) are easy to find. Only fault I could find is the 'busy times' section. Its not clear what its meant for -looks like collection of news articles-, and none of the links working on it as its 'under-construction'. Which is yeah honestly not great. Particularly as the front page slideshow has working links to what looks to be the same material they were meaning to link there. But that's a bit of a minor thing. All the basics work and its easy to navigate, which surprisingly makes it a lot better then quite a lot of candidate sites.

Yeah no doubt its built from a template, and aesthetically its not the greatest, I'll certainly give you that, but the layouts not a busy confusing eyesore and the navigation is easy to use. Been to far to many websites that looked terrific but were unusable mess to use. something like this, I find far uglier: https://www.scottmorrison.com.au/ Not just becasue Scott Morrison, and remember that's the website of one of the most prominent front-benchers in parliament at the moment who would of had far, far more to spend on it. Edit: I mean just look at. the drat title graphics even has noticeable jpeg artifacting. Edit 2: HAHAHAHAHAHA dr_rat fucked around with this message at 15:28 on Jan 7, 2015 |
