A chat thread seems like a good way to get over my tendency to lurk and  so hey, video games are cool and fun also my GBS lurker opinion is that the only interesting things on New GBS are threads about photoshopping and sometimes those ITT ones

I realize there were problems with old GBS but the new one is a creepy mystery whose purpose escapes me, but I don't know. There is not much that will improve it, so whatever. Games and the Imp Zone mostly seem okay where I post.

I don't even know what Imp Zone is. I took a look and it just looks like... another games forum. I originally joined SA for the LP subforum. I rarely venture outside it. Sleeveless posted:You've probably already read this but it's a pretty good breakdown of why Singularity is so slapdash and transparently ripping off Bioshock. The version of the game with enough money and hardware to live up to their original ideas probably would have been great. Yeah someone on youtube linked me to that article once I posted the intro episode to my Let's Play. I already knew that the game got delayed a year and during that time they totally overhauled the game and it was a bit rushed, but it was interesting to learn that for a day they actually thought the game was going to be cancelled. And that their strategy for the 10 month overhaul was "rip off everything that is cool and easy to implement." For the most part the plan worked well; it felt like a "best of" collection of stuff from great FPS games, and both Destructoid and Eurogamer agreed. It was rather transparently ripping off other games, but it was loads of fun. But Wolfenstein 2009 was at least as much fun (indeed in some parts it was better), so I don't understand why many consider it inferior. One of the reasons I decided to do such a thorough LP of Wolf09, I had to preach its greatness.

For some reason I just played Dragon Warrior (the SNES version this time) all the way through again, instead of doing something more productive, like playing almost any other game. Now I am playing 2, and have named the main character Jerk, for hilarious shenanigans.
