I always thought Sizzler was some generic restaurant name used in TV shows/movies for any American chain restaurant.

So, never actually been to a Sizzler. Just used it as a cover story once.

I've never been to a Sizzler. I do like the word sizzle and all it's variations though. It's a word the makes my belly hungry for something, I don't know probably fajitas.

we have them a lot around here on the west coast, but they've significantly evaporated over the past decade or two. i recently drove by one when passing a suburb-stripmall esque city and was like 'holy poo poo those are still around!' moment

anyways ya theyre bad to ok, like most typical massive 70s-90s city built up on suburban trackhousing companion restaurants like golden coral, carrols, dennys, tgi fridayhs, applebees, chevys, roadhouse, outback, chilis, red lobster, etc.

This is legit news to me.

The buildings down here were are all kind of like this.

For me as a kid it was the place where I ate half vanilla/half chocolate soft-serve ice cream. If your Sizzler didn't have that then it was a loving blight on the world.

RIP my local Sizzler, which always seemed to be packed by the local Seniors population.

The replacement restaurant is a Cantonese restaurant which is always packed, but gets 1.5 stars on yelp...basically get 4 to 5 stars from Chinese natives and 1 star from anyone else.
