I'm looking for some electro house type stuff that is in the vein of Mord Fustang or earlier Prototyperaptor. Most suggestions I've gotten are too wobbly for me. The sound I'm looking for is strong in "Timeless" and "Drive Hard" by Prototyperaptor. Mord Fustang comes close to it in "Pop"and "Milky Way." I'm also a big fan of Madeon's sound.

I guess I'm looking for something more heavy on the dirty synth chords and melody, but still has that big bass sound to it. I'm not looking for really wobbly drops, and so far every suggestion I've gotten has been, like, Knife Party or something. Does anyone have any ideas?

If you can watch Stop Making Sense, I would say do that.

They're one of my all time favorite bands, and I listened to them chronologically when I started.
You can pick any of their first five albums and be safe, with More Songs being the one I go back to most.

I'm going through a rough breakup right now. What are some of the best albums of any genre to get over someone?

And I'm not talking "wallow in self pity and cry to Death Cab for Cutie" stuff, more like a cathartic experience for relieving heartbreak.

This was a while back, but back when I was a young'n and my first girlfriend broke my heart, I listened to nothing but [A-->B] Life by mewithoutYou for months. It's probably best if you really hate your ex. They were originally post-hardcore and in the same universe as At The Drive-In, maybe..? Their sound drastically changes over time.

Basically the lead singer Aaron was heartbroken when the band formed and that's all he wrote about on the first album.

They have high energy songs that sound like you're about to murder your ex...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4GYLuHJ-sk

Chill songs that make you want to kill yourself...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh_l--U73Qg

And then on other albums they have

Songs about being over that girl and moving on...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaLNicVDC6g

Weird songs about being dead and stuff...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrKCQi8J8EQ

Absolutely gorgeous songs about that same girl from the first album, mixed with biblical imagery, letting the past go...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4g-3WRXIts

And now they have weird folk songs about bugs (God)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTcrWUU-EeA

And parables with weird music videos...

In a more metallic direction, you might like Nails, Trap Them, Converge (of course), Every Time I Die or Black Breath.

I just listened to Sorrow and Extinction on the youtube and it's good (really good!) but not really what I'm asking about, ie not at all poppy or upbeat in the slightest. But it's been a long while since I listened to some Sleep-rear end dum, so thanks for the trip down memory lane

I would disagree--the dreaminess and weirdness of Push the Sky Away is really very unique. The closest thing I can think of is Henry's Dream but Push the Sky Away lacks the edge and sneer of earlier Cave which is oftentimes a good thing. A couple of songs on the first Grinderman album might be considered kind of close--Grinderman is Cave's garage rock side project and it loving owns hard.

no idea what that show is, but when i think of good 90s rap/hip-hop it's Wu-Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube's first three albums, De La Soul, Pete Rock, Geto Boys, Gang Starr, Mobb Deep, Ultramagnetic MCs/Kool Keith, Nas, Del...
