Texas is Florida but without as many nice beaches. That picture of Dallas could be any non-ghetto part of Tampa. It's just all urban sprawl and crappy strip malls and cheap subdivisions.

You have to be a certain age to have one, you have to have an income to procure one, which in turn requires lots of other adult behaviors like showering regularly, not being a complete sociopath, understanding human emotions, and the like. That's not even to address things like the spatial awareness and being able to operate in 3 dimensions, and maybe even figure out simple mechanical things. These are all anathema to citigoons. They really just need their lives made as simple as possible, with as many choices as possible already made for them, and limited chance to ever encounter something that would require deviation from the explicit instructions they've had pinned to their sweater since leaving the group home.
