Nobody that hasn't been hit by that wall of reek upon opening a card shop door on a summer FNM afternoon can possibly understand it

yeah i'm pretty sure Arc (the good thrift store chain here) has donation boxes all over but they redistribute stuff evenly around their stores. so you can't just go clear out the cherry creek place and then everybody in aurora or east colfax gets to buy rags. so the hood shops have the same distribution of good stuff as the nice ones, but the caramel macchiatos are scared to go to them

ya exactly.

the suburban ones are good b/c its a buncha poo poo that was bought and worn once and tossed by people that wouldnt dare actually buy secondhand and they dont get picked over for upselling as much. less cool stuff in my experience but you can find solid basics

today i bought a car. i agreed to buy it over the phone yesterday, but today i actually signed everything and paid up and drove it away.

lowest i got a dealership to was 680 below msrp. i ended up using a credit union's car buying program and they got it to 780 below. tiny difference but they also took care of the loan at 1.49% and delivered the car to a local branch and basically everything was super-pleasant.

i also learned that bank tellers get skittish when you request a 5-figure cashier's check to be made payable to a rival credit union.

i figured for the sake of pumping that total revolving credit i'd see what amex's were like, and ficoforums in all their obsession had a long rear end faq about amex in particular, saying 3X increases were perfectly doable as long as you paid your balances off. i went on the site and put a request in, and five minutes later i go from 5k -> 15k.i also signed up for a discover it card today, all i keep hearing about is how good their customer service is so i figured it was worth a stab. 1% cash back with 5% rotating categories and no annual fee.

i don't know what my limit will be for that but i'm pretty sure when it's here i'll have about 32-34k in total credit so now i can buy things and basically never go over 5-15% utilization, which i'm very happy about.
