Fuckin' A, oatgan.

One of my favorite commentary moments in any wrestling promotion, from Starrcade' 95:

Bobby Heenan: Dusty, let's give the people at home an idea of how a man like Eddie Guerrero approaches a match. If you were Eddie Guerrero, and you were in there with a man Ohtani, what would you be thinking?

Dusty Rhodes: I'd be thinkin' I lost a whole lotta weight.

There aren't many people capable of engaging crowds the way Dusty did when you handed him a microphone. Heart goes out to his family, that's a devastating loss.

Are you thinking of Rob Naylor? He's the one everyone and I mean everyone loved who left.

Maybe he'll come back. And maybe they'll ask Dustin to fill his Dad's spot. :unsmith:

It's a toss up between him and Flair but I'm going to give it to Dusty because that man's babyface fire was off the charts.

I certainly wouldn't mind that, I do hope Goldust gets a proper farewell tour of sorts once he feels up to though. Dude deserves to go out on something better than that match with his brother that didn't go well.

I'd give the edge to Dusty because of how much harder it is to get true, genuine face heat like he did. Ric was a master of his craft but it takes less to get that amount of heel heat.

I'm gonna try to work a Dusty impression into my next speaking gig somehow.

Guy I used to work with apparently lived in Dusty's neighborhood in Charlotte growing up and mowed his lawn. Here's what he's tweeting out:

quote:

As kids we all knew where Dusty lived. Used to ride our bikes past his house everyday hoping to see him. I finally saw him...once.

He called me over to him in a way only he could.
"Yuuuung may'an....yo mamma & dadday have a lawn mowuh?"
I said yes.

He asked if I'd come over once a week to mow his lawn. I did that for about two years before he sold his house.

He used to leave me cash in an envelope in my mailbox. $50 per week! For a 10 year old kid!

When he sold his house, he wrote me a letter thanking me for making his lawn look good. And he included $500 cash! He never knew my name.

The letter was addressed to "Young man". That first time when he "hired" me was the only time I ever saw him in the neighborhood.

I still have that letter buried somewhere. I'm going to have to find it now. RIP, Dream.
