Russel Wilson choking on the 1 is a funny joke but the more I watch that play the more I think Butler just made the read of his life and perfectly anticipated it. If he doesn't, that's a touchdown and Tom Brady* only has 3 rings.

Wilson is in that awkward spot of being good enough that you can't really afford to get rid of him, but not quite good enough that he's a true franchise QB. He's like Andy Dalton or Ryan Tannehill in that way. The Seahawks are sort of screwed in that he's not worth the money he will command, but finding someone who is at least on his level is going to be difficult. I think the Hawks should pay him and hope he continues to improve. I think they'll pay him, lose the ability to sign depth, and be a good but not great team for a while. One that is always close or in the playoffs, but suddenly seems to be unable to get over the hump, like the Chargers were for a while.

Good lord I'm down on wilson as a franchise QB but the dudes young. He's got tons of issues that are glosses over but he's been given jack poo poo at receiver and has a bad OC.

And Tannehill has literally made huge improvements every year and has some pretty good looking weapons for the first time ever. He's had the worst line in the league (injury or talent to blame, depends) 2 of his 3 years.

What I'm saying is that you can't put them with Dalton. That's just not fair

I'm pretty high on Tannehill, but I don't think the comparison to Dalton is unfair. The gap between Wilson and Dalton, however, is much larger.

Andy Dalton hit his ceiling. He's been on some teams with great defenses and plenty of offensive tools and he has under performed pretty badly.

Whereas Russell Wilson, given the circumstances of who he's played with, has been far and away superior to Dalton. I think Wilson could actually be worth real franchise quarterback money if they ever surround him with actual real life NFL receivers.

That's definitely why I think Seattle should pay him. He's not worth that money right now, but he has the potential to be worth it one day, and finding someone at least on or near his current level is too big a risk.

There's no doubt Butler made the perfect play on the ball, even the most "why the gently caress didn't you run that there" people recognize just how well he played that. Excited to see if he's got more than that play in him this year, now that everyone ahead of him on the depth chart left.

The guy who ran Jared's charitable foundation was arrested for child porn a couple of months ago, so I'm assuming it's related.

He hasn't been charged with a crime yet, but if I had to guess, he got fingerpointed or something. It doesn't sound good. Plus Jared ran a porn rental service out of his room in college, so there's that too.
