Double post: Someone on the lead adventure forums has posted spellcards with a nice background, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31033538/FrostgraveSpellCards.pdf Samples: EDIT: There's already some kind of an errata already: quote:Summon Demon - should read '0-5 Imp' as opposed to '1-5' as it is possible to succeed in casting the spell by rolling equal to the casting roll. Really excited for this game. I've always had an interest in Mordheim, but nobody wanted to play it when I was into Warhammer a decade ago. I've run into a cool gaming group since then and if I can convince them to give it a try this could be really great. Plenty of minis in storage for everyone to build their own warband. Definitely gonna start with a bunch of Dwarves, Wizard will probably be an engineer with a big gun using renamed spells as special ammo or something. I know the full rules aren't out yet, but any idea what the different weapons do? The page on Garage Gamers about Critical Hit says a twohanded weapon adds 2 to the damage calculation if you win the Fight roll. I thought it'd be something similar for crossbows vs regular bows, but range and cost are the same and they don't affect armor like a twohanded weapon does so if there is a damage difference it is probably compensated otherwise. Maybe a penalty when you move? Daggers do -2 damage, I guess?

I bought Mordheim when it came out and I was so excited. No one in my group would buy it because they said GW would drop it in 6 months, and they were right. My little brother was too young to be interested. I hope to find some players for this game, but at least my son wants to play it this time.

I also have a Mordheim box kicking around somewhere. Never played it, maybe glued together 3 guys who just hung out on my computer desk unpainted for years.

I just found it, the description of the models here give some hints. http://nstarmagazine.com/FROSTGRAVE.htm Daggers are -1 damage Staff is -1 damage, but also gives the enemy -1 damage Crossbows indeed require a reload action, no benefit mentioned but guessing +2 damage like twohanded weapons.

4x4' or 3x3' depending on how bloody you wanted things to be was listed in blog posts. But just do what feels right.

I hope it supports multiple parties. If not I'm still gonna try a 6x3 or 6x4 area and play with 4 people using randomized starting locations. With everyone's moves split up the way they are I think it'll still go fast enough to prevent people from getting bored.

One of the reviews said it would go as small as 2x2 if you want fast games. That sounds like it might get pretty furious quickly, but it if it works well at that size it would be pretty nice.

I have that dude in metal and he is awesome, I was considering using him as my apprentice as well, with this guy as the Wizard: Because he looks like just the sort of officious rear end to make an apprentice haul all his poo poo like a pack animal.

BioTech posted:Crossbows! How do they differ from bows? Same range, but you have to reload, so I'm guessing a damage bonus or something if you win the roll? Crossbows are +2 Damage. As far as rules for multiple players go - Divide the table into N starting zones, each player brings 3 treasure tokens to deploy (so total treasure is 3xPlayers), there are rules for deploying treasures etc, roll for deployment, Round 1 FIGHT!. The scenarios provided are for different locales around Frostgrave and aren't tied to any player numbers. There are no specific rules for allied players, but it isn't hard to extrapolate from the 1v1 game. Edit - I whipped up a quick table on the relationships between the 10 schools of magic. I hope you find it useful No Pun Intended fucked around with this message at 10:20 on Jul 16, 2015 |

Rules questions: I've seen it mentioned in reviews that when you attack damage can actually go both ways - the attacker can get hurt if they don't roll well enough. Is this just the equivalent of a critical fumble, or is it actually that if you straight lose the dice off the defender gets damage on you just like if he had initiated? (I hope this makes sense) Not rules related: How are those plastic miniatures?

What are the rules for choosing spells for your wizard? I pre-ordered the book a couple of days ago, and feel like I should wait for it to arrive before I start pondering potential warbands. But it's difficult to wait yo. I'm excited for this game!
