sovereign citizens are just mentally ill people who have subscribed to anarchism I mean their whole thing is rejecting the idea that the government can possess rights that individuals cannot. while as an actual basis for policy (or lack thereof) this is laughable imo, as an idea it has a rich philosophical history. it's an important idea to analyse and consider for anyone learning law or public policy. but anarchists, even anarchists who believe they can and should put their philosophy into practise, understand that until they do they still have to deal with society's laws and breaking them will result in adverse consequences from courts and law enforcement. sovereign citizens seem to think that there are magic words that invalidate this fact and then act really surprised when that inevitably fails to work. that's loving mental illness.

If there is ever a knock on the door, its usually me that has to answer, (shared hallway with other tenants. live in first flat, so I get buzzed first.) about 4 months ago some goob did indeed come knocking, rang all the bells, so I answered the door with a "hello" and another flat guy stuck his head out from behind his door, I waited for the fat little man in front of me to state his business, but he seemed too worked up on who's flat was who, who was I, who was the guy on oxygen down the hall. before I had the chance to say "private property, pavements that way" the new guy down the hall said yes, his name was "mr frail guy down the hall on oxygen". stunning, so bloke got to sidle past me to have a look in his flat for a tv. jokes on them though, he did not have to pay his tv license, as he died about a week later.
