That was also the only time I ever came up with a cool nickname for a Pokemon (my starter Infernape named Kong-Bak  )E: poo poo that would've been a good name for that Mankey. Oh well.

Update 12: Rock Tunnel Yay Time to enter the-  Pikachu seems to have a tree up its butt.  Sure why not.   So what many, many people hit you over the head with is that Rock Tunnel is dark. It is still manageable though, you can still see the outline of the area and this place is very linear, so you can go through it pretty easily.   But that's not really good for an LP. I can and have gone through this place without Flash, but if you have a spare slot, might as well.    Now it's just a normal cave full of trainers. But no items, weirdly enough.   Headbutt (Zutsiki) is an okay Normal move that has a chance to flinch, which causes you to lose a turn. But flinching only works if you're faster then the target.    Oh baby. This is a move you should avoid in these games. We'll see what it does in a moment.    #079: Slowpoke   Yeah, this place is real boring.    Just empty spaces until the next trainer. Mt. Moon was kinda like that as well, but there were other places to go and items incentivized going down other paths. Here, there's only one way to really do and the rest are just dead ends, but I suppose it means you can make it through this place if you don't know about Flash, since it is out of the way.   "will fight you."~Trainers~    There we go. PERFECT.   "are too scary." Oh yeah, the Poison effect. It's annoying.   I'm sorry, the internet has scarred me over people like that. The only good creepy theory about Lavender town won't come up until the next Rival battle. But that one's pretty good. --- Is there any NPC around where you first find Munna that complains about all the pink floral Pokémon, and wishes for a chunkier one? It sounds like the kind of crowbarred-in callback the modern Pokémon Company would do.

If you black out too many times in the tower your game save gets deleted! There was even a kid in my school who would also ask people if they wanted to see a "COOL TRICK" in the Pokemon Tower, would save in there, reset your file, and blame it on the spooky ghosts. gently caress you, Liam. Fun fact, in the awesome Pokemon Origins OVA, the "do you believe in ghosts" conversation appears...including the white hand. It's really hard to see, but it's a great detail. What I'm saying is that Origins is great and you should watch it if you haven't.

In the end, all the cities are named after colors, though the Japanese names mostly come from nature and tend to have a lot more symbolism. (My favorite is Celadon City's Japanese meaning - looking it up, it fits the city's "personality" perfectly.)

My only exposure to Creepypasta is some random "shrug and accept friend request from some random shooter" person asking me for insights in how to make one, out of nowhere because literally my only interaction with them prior had been "I wasn't a dick in an internet shootey mans game". They had no idea who Jason Voorhees was or what Crystal Lake was

I don't remember, was the whole "there's part of the song in Lavender town parts adult ears aren't accustomed to hearing, so children hear more of the song" bullshit or an actual thing? I lean on the bullshit part considering the limits of GB hardware, but I dunno, I've heard so many terrible variations of creepy pastas that they all blend together with facts at times.

Now, maybe the whole "mosquito/tv-on sound" can be heard in Lavender Town's theme but it would likely be incidental because the composer likely wouldn't be able to compose a melody or a line based around that sound. I dunno, is this all that creepy pastas are? Just people making up random poo poo and seeing how many people fall for it? Is this the "ghost stories" of our generation?

On the subject of dumb kid tricks, I remember a kid in this after-school group thing I went to said he had a Clefairy (in-game) but Team Rocket stole it. He also called Pewter city "Brock city" and Cerulean city "Misty city".
