I completed the game, now replaying to find all the content I might have missed. I think the only puzzle I haven't solved yet is finding all the pages of the Thor worshipers' book. I have the two from the abandoned farm, a bunch I found in the mine (I basically searched every nook and cranny in the mine for them, so I'm pretty sure I have them all), and am stuck as to where the remaining ones might be.

Only for small things like canceling out inventory items, which you can also do by choosing another toolbar icon or using the item on something. Should be playable.

I had wondered about that one. It fixed itself after I closed out and reloaded the save, so I wasn't sure it was a bug or if Nintendo had filed a content claim against the next scene because a vintage NES system had mysteriously appeared as part of the background art. (It had vanished again by the time my character finally got out of bed).

I gather that the book bug relates directly to the duplicate page I found?

I'm a probably just a dumbass, but I can't figure out how to get the Garlic or bypass the anti-Dracula lady, is there something super simple I'm missing? Saw one other guy having a similar problem but didn't see a solution. I read that maybe you do something at night? But I still can't get her to leave, so when I try and grab it I get blocked.

This is really enjoyable so far, I ended up buying it on a whim but it's really capturing the feel of those old LucasArts (and Earthbound for some reason) point and clicks in a good way.

The only problem I've run into is that when you're playing it on a touchscreen there's no real way to 'hover' the way you do with a cursor. So you can't run the cursor over things to see if there are interact options, and you can't bring up the menu. It's definitely still playable, but in my case I found it far better to use my Surface stylus than my hands (which isn't really the same at all).

It is a pointless red herring and the item is gotten elsewhere. The actual way to get the garlic is beyond the anti-dracula guard, in the church at night.

Ah ok, I've lost my dog at this point so does that screw me out of it? I'll have to go back and check the church.. Thanks, I always get caught up on some puzzles in these kind of games.

E: Back at the church but I can't seem to find it anywhere, I already opened the window but I still have the keyring, guessing that might be used for something?

Just another quick question since it's had me running in circles for the last half hour. Am I supposed to find a wrench or something somewhere? I know I need to fix the boat and help the band fix their car. I was thinking it might be in that shed near the starting circus but I can't seem to find a way to open that either. I also searched the construction site but couldn't find anything. Is there some other way to fix the boat that I'm not seeing?

Also, out of curiosity, is there any way to use the in-game phones at all or is it always a random mash of numbers?

Thanks, yeah I would of never guessed that, I thought the cassettes were all background dressing.

I think I'm close to the end but now I keep hitting a black screen after trying to progress a cutscene, tried 3 times and no luck. If it helps the devs I managed to get around it by switching the game into windowed mode on my 4th try, don't know if it's just luck or if that had something to do with it. I'm also on Windows 10 and using a AMD card if that helps narrow it down.

E: (Ending) Huh... I guess that's why it's a Devolver game. God drat. Great job on this thing. This is probably the closest thing I've ever played to Earthbound in terms of being weird but also really sincere about it. Was it just a touch that the mutated bird looks a bit like the rear end in a top hat bird from the beginning of the game?

We just fixed a bunch of stuff, including (hopefully) that pesky black screen bug, and we'll be pushing the update tonight if it tests okay. You'll also be able to give the priestess lady the pages too, though the name if a flag was changed so you may need to restart or edit your save file. I want to give it a proper thrashing first before uploading. :)

There's definitely a connection between the mutant bird/rat found in the gameworld and the mutants at the end. Think of their diet. :P The mutants at the end just had a... higher concentration of it.

We really need to edit the fixing boat <-> getting the band a gig dialogue. Everyone thinks you need to fetch them a wrench. And we did make that tape look different in the inventory in terms of shape/size slightly.

That and the bit where you're supposed to get the bird's dead mom and it locks you into the mine area need some smoothing.

That's perfect, that drat bird might be one of my favorite characters with all the little easter eggs related to it (guessing the Jerry Springer bit on the TV at the beginning is a bit connected too)

Any plans on doing a iOS version? I can think of a few people I know that'd probably be into it but they just don't play games on PCs at all anymore.

I don't care if you're a star, the moon, or the whole damn sky, you need to come back down to earth and remember where you came from
Was digging around the Eternal Hug EP and found that there's an Extended Version of the trailer theme.

This game has more and more stuff to give every time I go into it.

Also I gifted this game to three of my buddies, one plans on streaming it for halloween (lol if he thinks it'll be scary), another has already sent me a message along the lines of "I never would have bought this game but holy poo poo am I glad you did and boy am I glad I played it." and the third hasn't said anything although i think she's busy transitioning between two jobs.

so overall i'd say it was worth it and I hope your game gets out to as many people as possible.

Okay so the entire Eternal Hug EP transitions together really well. It's not often that I turn off the shuffle function on my iPod/iTunes just so I can listen to everything as one great big track.

I really hope that whatever game/project you work on next, you do more with dream sequences. The ones in Dropsy were far too few for how good they were.

Beat the game. I really, really enjoyed it: good job Jay and co.

I know it might be hard to envision a sequel with that ending, but I can see Dropsy's brother using all that alien tech and being megalomaniacal and unhinged enough to basically screw the inhabitants more for his continued conquest of power and Dropsy being just drawn to help people especially those from his adopted planet (which still has a bunch of rights to wrong and sad people to give unbelievably moist hugs to.)

Fuck you say?
Just beat the game! I think the only two people I missed out on were the book lady with the missing pages - I had missed one by the end of the game and the tree, who I'm guessing you have to hug throughout the game. I'm not sure if the cop counts as someone you can please? Wonderful game, I found the graphics and sound very evocative of the old-school Lucasarts games I grew up with. The game is actually a whole lot sweeter and less mind-fucky than I was expecting, and the dream sequences were super cool. I love the little drawings Dropsy does whenever you get a hug and I'm sad it had to end, I wish there was just a new land where I could spread even more cheer after the credits :unsmith:.

Regarding night/day mechanics, I was stuck for far too long on the child's flower and getting the garlic for the failed soup attempt. I kicked myself up and down the street after it finally clicked that, hey, neither of these characters are present during the night. The only puzzle I didn't figure out by myself was the record shop performance for the band: At first I thought the shop was missing a microphone, so I thought Dropsy would have to take the preacher's which seemed out of character for him. Then I thought the band needed their car repairing, but I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to do it. I had to look up the solution for that one, and ironically I had tried playing their tape everywhere but the shop because I didn't notice the casette player. Doy.

You can totally befriend the cop. Listen to what he says when you're not directly talking to him. At least one of those icons you will probably encounter.

Also, you should only need to hug the tree once to get it on your wall of hugs. Note that it's not the only inanimate object you can hug. HUG EVERYTHING.
