The idea of General Mayhem getting a Hellcat Charger engine left me all  but the execution has left me  I pondered many things, like that I want more crazy stupid builds on low money and lots of time, that having a shop install the Hellcat engine instead of doing it themselves was cheating us of the real episode, that Roadkill is not fun when they have too much money to throw around, that maybe they should have posted on facebook that "Lawyers got involved, can't film it, gg GMG, sorry everyone else but it's not happening" and gone rallying instead of the crap we got. Then I had an epiphany. What I really, really want is to see the guys from Project Binky install a Hellcat engine in a crapped-out charger and/or slap a supercharger on a Jaguar and/or put a massive turbo on a GM 4.3L in a junker. I'm never going to get to do anything like that - the closest I'm going to come to slinging the General Mayhem around on dirt roads Dukes of Hazzard style is maybe seeing a Hellcat Charger while I'm driving my heap of poo poo Blazer down the highway. Thus, what I really want is to live vicariously through someone else's project on Youtube. I want all the horrific dirty details, the entire build from start to end, 100% automotive engineering masturbation material.

Turns out 123 months is the magic number for a GM battery's life. Got to a delivery, shut off the car, got out. Got back to the car, turned the key, and got half a crank before the dash went nuts and the starter solenoid started sounding like a jackhammer.... even after I let go of the key. Then it stopped and repeated itself until I took my foot off the clutch. Tried to push start it. It started, then the security light came on and it died. Boss brought out his jump pack, followed me back to the store. Car cranked really slowly once we were back at the store, so I clocked out and went to Napa. For giggles they threw the battery on the tester... 13 volts  and 55 amps (CCA was 600 amps). And it was visibly swollen on both sides, but not warm. A few minutes later I started smelling rotten eggs, and touched the battery. Fucker was really hot, and had started swelling more. The parts guy said he was going to move it outside the building, and was pretty sure it had at least one shorted cell.$130 and one mistaken battery later...  I was impressed that they have a direct fit battery that even works with the stock vent tubes though. (mistaken battery because most early 06 Ions used a group 75... mine apparently got a group 78, which only later 06 and all 07s normally got)

Happy Friday everyone! I'm like 200 posts behind on this thread because y'all were being ornery as gently caress and I just couldn't take it, but I wanted to let you know that I still love you all (except corn you're a bad poster and should stop). And ok, ok, that's partially the amazing 9.9% trippel I just drank talking, but IT COMES FROM THE HEART. There was some discussion about content on the forum and having more project thread which has me thinking I'd like to try to get a new 2002 post up in the coming months so that you can all watch me go from a lovely welder to a slightly less lovely welder and people that know what they're doing can ask why I'm using TIG to patch a floor pan when I could be using MIG and I'll flame them like "WIREFEED IS FOR THE BIRDS MAN TIG IS WHERE IT'S AT". Rhyno did you sell the MS6 yet? You probably should. blk I have two garage spaces and my wife has none because they're tandem, but I've already made the promise that either when I build a garage or we buy another house that she gets a parking spot AND a new car/suv of her choice (as long as it's not a lovely choice between you guys and me). Oh, and adiabatic those powerplant pictures were crazy and that seems like an excellent place to get murdered! Have a good weekend everybody!

Looked at a Saab 9-5 3.0 (yes the awful asymmetrical turbo) it was blowing blue at start up the did the smoke screen behind it as I tried to drive it. It had absolutely no power climbing a small hill. The boost gauge went strait to middle then it started miss firing. I say blown turbo. My spidy senses say walk away from this car. They want $1000 for it. I said I'd give 500 and that's being very generous. The paint needs some love and the interior is worn but not trashed. Car has 140k miles, feels decent though. I wanted to but it, slap a turbo on it and sell it. What are your thoughts AI? My spidy senses said walk away. Blown turbo, a car with a dead manufacturer, and just being used, I decided to just simply walk away. Good choice - yes/no? tldl; bk looks at a broken Saab to flip for cash. He walked away, yes/no

I had a customer come in today claiming her and her daughter's iPhones had been compromised by a member of lulsec, who supplied a snippet of the code of the virus he used to infect them and had this ultra libertarian woman worked into a tizzy while her poor daughter rolled her eyes I asked to see the code and it was literally spaghetti code with the word "payload" at the top with the woman's name and Facebook link she felt much better after I told her some kid was trolling her through Facebook and her daughter was v smug welp that's my iPhone 6S launch story thanks for reading!

Speaking of phones, I inherited my roomie's old Nokia Lumia 635, and holy poo poo it's a massive step up from my old ZTE... whatever. The Windows phone OS is super slick and fast and I dig how everything looks. Am I a terrible person now for being one of those lame Windows phone users?

The idea if tiered pre-orders that have random gently caress-all "sense" is dumb as hell. So on the first day, you can online pre-order, but if you wait a week, you can reserve a spot in line to make sure you get a handset. I'm on an mvno, give me an unlocked handset and let me pay you way too much loving money for this dumb garbage.
