Yeah, Avengers 1 is still very much a Joss Whedon film. You know, with Natasha KOing some thugs with her hair and stuff like that.

this means that there is an MCU movie every two months in 2018 until the summer

Well, I can honestly say I did not see this coming at all. Was all but certain that Marvel had written off the character internally as not being franchise material. Yay to Black Panther being moved up, boo to Captain Marvel being delayed again.

They also announced movies in May, July, November 2020. Banking hard on the superhero glut not being worn out in 5 years.

gently caress yes Ant Man and the Wasp. I basically despaired after the Wasp stinger because I figured we would never see her.

I'm glad there's an Ant-Man sequel! Marvel must need the extra time for Captain Marvel for Rousey's acting classes.

Funny, 32 is the age I always imagined Carol as. She's got to show up in a movie earlier than that though, not civil war, but probably Avengers 3.

MacheteZombie posted:I was guessing Strange or GotG2 (leaning more towards the latter) as her first appearance. I always imagined her just show up as Carol Danvers USAF in a movie, and she gets her powers in that film, with the stinger at the end showing her with them. With the way the Movies are being set up, her powers will probably come from interacting with an infinity stone than Kree magic tech kabooms.
|
# ? Oct 8, 2015 19:42 |

But they've already talked about the Kree in the MCU a few times, so they can still do it that way.
|
# ? Oct 8, 2015 19:46 |

Yeah but unless the Kree are going to be part of GotG again, and also it happens on Earth, it's not quite as easy as just having an Infinity Stone go haywire again and she gets powers.

Uh I think casting a black led film that's not directly Oscar bait about racism or slavery is pretty good considering it's the Hollywood conventional wisdom that those movies are terrible at the box office.

More Ant-Man and Wasp sounds awesome. I would be worried about Marvel Studios having such a full slate, but as far as I am concerned they haven't really put a foot wrong and until they do I'm happy to extend them the benefit of the doubt.

Surprised that everyone is so psyched about Ant-Man/Wasp. I thought the general reaction towards that movie was pretty tepid, I for sure never expected them to make a sequel. I'm just bummed it's pushing Capt. Marvel back.
