When I'm watching something I turn off the part of my brain that cares about what the people in it and making it have done IRL and just focus on the movie/show. I will like or dislike a movie on it's own merits, not on my ethical and moral outlook of the people who are making it because I simply don't have such a petty sense of self-worth to project my issues with someone on to something like a simple story. It could turn out James Earl Jones and Irvin Kershner raped a basket of whelping puppies to death and gave Mark Hamill AIDS, I would still love Empire Strike Back on its own merits. But at the same time Ben Afleck could have died saving a bus load of children from falling off a cliff and Pearl harbor would still be a dogshit movie. People need to stop projecting personal poo poo on to entertainment

There are better movies out there, there are better directors out there. Denouncing the life's work of Roman Polanski is the literal least that one could do to him, but since he got away from any legal punishment then I think people are justified for trash-talking or not watching his movies.
