The only two Marijuanas I see on Discogs are a Romanian female hip hop singer and a trippy lo-fi hip hop instrumental group that sounds pretty cool. I like the slow heavy bass on this one: http://marijuanamusic.bandcamp.com/track/pie-eyed

We know a remote farm in Lincolnshire, where Mrs. Buckley lives.

Yes, this is definitely a Conan album.

Edit: There are some pretty decent moments here, and I especially like the opening riff on Every Man is an Enemy, but my god they need to lose this vocalist.

I'm with you there. I really liked what I listened to in regards to instrumentation, but that vocalist sounded like he was trying to work Dopesmoker-esque vocals into it and it really doesn't work. Still digging the album though.

Woah, that's a pretty big departure in sound from their split with Sourvein, but it's good. I'm hyped to hear a full length album from them.

Yeah, the singer seems to have gotten progressively worse (at least in my opinion, for what I look for in doom vocals) from album to album. I'll still stick by them though.

The different opinions people have on the Conan vocals are interesting. The vocals are definitely not typical and I can see how some would see them as flawed, but I prefer them to a lot of metal stuff I hear.
Chant Yelling?

In case you missed it, Witchcraft have released a new album. IMO It's pretty meh and probably their worst album yet. There are a couple of semi-good tracks but the songs mostly go nowhere and there's no real power to them, lyrics are hit and miss.

I posted this in the metal thread, but I might as well post it here too. My band made a new song, and it might fit here because of the retro riff-y-ness and low tempo. Also, vocally, I would like to be a mix between Rob H. and Ozzy. Regrettably, I'm neither. But I try.

Listened to this whole record and it's fantastic. Pushes all of my buttons when it comes to sludge/doom, which is not something I ever expected out of Agoraphobic Nosebleed.

Double post and a bit tangential but Aaron and Jackie from Giant Squid have a kickstarter up for their (of course) fish-themed t-shirt company Cotton Crustacean. Never would've discovered Giant Squid without this thread so I figured maybe some folks would be interested.

Bogatyr
Jul 20, 2009
Yeah, he's made masks with pneumatics that modulate his voice for live shows. Sounds like a cool show. Particularly when it's a one man operation that I would assume a lot of which would be pre-recorded, sequenced, whatever.

I've been to electronic shows in years past and a guy twiddling knobs isn't much of a show. Go ahead and smoke em, pop em if you got em... Though Aphex Twin's bears are a riot.
