Yeah. Carson palmer and his busted rear end knees are way faster than cam......uhhh for some reason I thought we were gonna talk about manning ok. Palmer is faster than manning. He could totally throw the ball faster than Cam and his recievers could have gotten open better except when talib tried to murder them. What is with it and teams signing Seahawks' kickers for silly contracts? His predecessor (which is why I enjoyed Bad Moon's post) got a hilarious deal with the Rams that we more or less tricked them into. Said kicker went to the Pro Bowl this year.

I met Shaun Alexander, it was right after he got cut from the Redskins. He was running sprints at our college practice football field. I wasn't sure if it was him, but went up like "hey are you Shaun Alexander" and got his autograph. He wrote down a bible verse and invited me to come to a church event he would be speaking at in a few days in the neighborhood, which I did not attend. It was still pretty cool to see an NFL-level guy (well, not really NFL-level by that point) just down running at the practice field like so many ordinary folks do every day. In hindsight, I wish I had asked if he was Ronde or Tiki Barber.

Peterson will finish his career with more yards and a better YPC, and is an overall better runner than Tomlinson. Tomlinson will get in eventually, you can't ignore the touchdowns, but it won't be first ballot. Peterson will be a first ballot guy. He's the kind of RB that people will talk about in 25 years, Tomlinson will just kind of fade into obscurity like Earnest Byner or John Riggins

AJ McCarron came closer to beating the Broncos than Cam Newton, and, hell, he actually tried to go after his own game-losing fumble.

I'm convinced this is an act to make people praise Tomlinson, but to play along Peterson (who is 30) will have to be "good" for two more years just to catch Tomlinson's rushing yardage--he's basically 2000 yards behind him there. The odds of this happening are pretty good but we've seen a lot of running backs physically fall apart right about now.

But he's going to have to be good for 4 or 5 more years to catch up in yards from scrimmage, especially since he isn't anywhere near the threat receiving out of the backfield. The only way I see Tomlinson not being a first ballot guy is if he's up against some real monsters. Ray Lewis is taking one spot, I could see Kurt Warner getting another. Who else is a first time guy next year?

e: poo poo I don't think Ray is eligible until 2018, what I get for looking at an old nfl.com article.

No Moss until 2018, so next year is TO's best chance.

Noteworthy players eligible for HOF for the first time next year include:

S Brian Dawkins
WR Torry Holt
T Matt Light
QB Donovan McNabb
DE Jason Taylor
RB LaDainian Tomlinson
WR Hines Ward (he loving better not!!!!)

And finalists from this year that didn't make it:

K Morten Andersen
S Steve Atwater
Coach Don Coryell
RB Terrell Davis
G Alan Faneca
T Joe Jacoby
RB Edgerrin James
S John Lynch
WR Terrell Owens
QB Kurt Warner

I'm pulling for Warner/Owens/Coryell/Tomlinson/Anybody but Ward.
