Guys I thought The Taken King was a really good expansion, and while Bungie appears to have squandered an opportunity to build something amazing, it was really fun for a while. I don't know why we're talking about The Taken King in a thread about a different game though!!

Expanding on the "we're probably hunting the first wave of The Division in endgame", has there ever been a Tom Clancy game that acknowledges the others exist? Like Splinter Cell showing up in Rainbow Six? I know none of the rest of the Clancy-verse appears in Splinter Cell, but that's the only Clancy-verse game I've really followed heavily until The Division came along. It'd be kinda cool if a Splinter Cell agent popped up in The Division. Fiff freedom and all.

In the earlier Tom Clancy games like Endwar you get cameo appearances like Rainbow Six Characters in different army factions

Rainbow Six Siege last "single" player map has terrorist nerve gassing a university and both rainbow and them have to fight in hazmat suits so who knows maybe have some tie in there, Siege doesn't really have a plot besides kill terrorist though.

I just wish the PvP was a little bit more objective driven rather than "kill this dude so you can take his scarf."

Hawx and Ghost Recon exist in the same universe, Hawx 2 opens with you escorting them somewhere as close air support. I think there was also a mission with a 3rd Echelon agent as well? I can't remember that well, Hawx 2 was really really bad.

So you'll be doing poo poo and checking your back for rogues. They also said they toned down NPC spawns for the beta, so who knows how dense it will be and if your PvP battles will be mixed with PvE.

poo poo, replace the pistol altogether with a baseball bat or a fire axe. I never used my pistol once in the beta, except for a vanity kill on a downed rogue. It takes the same amount of time to switch to as the other two weapons, and the only thing it really brings to the table is the unlimited ammo.

I used my pistol all the time when running around not really looking for missions, but just random encounters by spamming the pulse ability. I would rather upgrade my pistol than anything else

Some of the pistols have an execution damage modifier that seems like it'd be really useful. Building yourself into the security tree with a rad sidearm and the blast shield for group content seems totally possible.

I ran a decent-ish Revolver I found and the Assault Shield saved me the... maybe three times I whipped it out before switching back to the grenade launcher for better damage spikes. I figure if I wasn't soloing the DZ, the Riot Shield with some of the upgrades that weren't available might actually be pretty viable.

I think it would be great to be able to replace the pistol with a melee weapon. Pistols are great though, because as its been said most of them have the executioner talent that makes them powerful when someone is sub 20-30% health.

Pistols also do double damage if your target is below 30% health. I didn't play enough of beta to say if that makes them worth using though.

Shooting dogs is definitely not a joke, and I have no intention of making light of it. And it can be a tough and emotional thing for agents to go through, speaking from personal experience. And I know that it's often much harder on the shooter than on the dog. However, I also know that it doesn't necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of your life. People can move past it, and heal.
