my cat is norris posted:"Friendly" no doubt depends on frequent visits and socialization. Iirc, that gif features a wolf and a volunteer from a wolf rescue. If I recall correctly, she worked with a research team as an undergrad doing field work with this wolf group, and established trust with them over a good amount of time. She left to finish her coursework, and this footage is from her returning after three(?) years. The wolves all remember her, and the ones she knew as cubs/yearlings all want to play with her and are super happy she has come back, and this wolf is one of those younger ones. There is another scenes of her getting mobbed by 5 or 6 of them in the same video, and just having to sit still while they settle themselves down.

Incidentally that's the exact facial expression I have when someone catches me cooling down by standing in front of an open fridge. I think my cat has caught on to this act because he'll join me and just sit there basking in the cool air for a while whenever it opens.
