Today's Flip Flappers was really something else. This show's got a commanding lead for my AOTY. The art, direction, writing - they're all incredible.

Both correct. Very correct in the case of Flip Flappers. March Comes in Like a Lion also earns points for being strong on both OP and ED.

I can't adequately describe, even to myself, what I enjoy so much about Cheating Craft. It's just 12 minutes of insanity that passes in the blink of an eye every week.

It seems to be a fairly standard Battle Shonen series, but condensed into a tight package and themed around poo poo you have at your desk.

from shows that haven't already been mentioned

Poco's Udon World, Chii's Sweet Adventure, Time Bokan 24, Heybot, Scorching Ping Pong Girls, and All Out have great OPs. Tiger Mask W is probably the only show I really love both the OP and ED of, though.

I really like the pingpong girls op, except when they randomly cut out parts of it for random lines!

Just saw the sixth episode of Occultic;Nine... :aaaaa:

I was thinking the show was just strange in a dull way, but now I'm more interested to see what's going to happen next.
I didn't notice the details like most of the main cast not having shadows or reflections after the third episode so I was also shocked to find out that they killed themselves in the lake (and so were they). I was not expecting that twist. Ryo-tas (who I think is the voice on the radio) and the bar manager are shady as hell. I wonder how they really fit into all of this. Can't wait for the next episode to see how everyone deals.

Finally finished Kuromukuro, and it's most likely going to make my top 5 for the year - it's just a good sci-fi show that pays attention to the details enough to make it feel like it's set in the real world despite the robots and aliens, and kept adding cooler stuff as the show went on.

The show didn't end in the feel-good way I wanted and the actual final episode was really frustrating (not in a "this ruined the show" way, in a "gently caress why aren't there more episodes of this yet" way) as a result, but they've definitely set it up so the story concludes in a second season or later and I really hope that gets made soon.

I also really hope it gets a release that's not completely hosed up by Netflix/fansubbers dropping it next time, I feel like very few people actually know the show exists and is good just because people couldn't simulwatch it. :(

I'm still working on it and pretty much watching it one episode a week (time permitting), so far it's still great as of 18 episodes, glad to hear that it stays that way, but now i'm a little worried for the cast! :ohdear::ohdear:

I had spare time today and finally sat down to check out the first couple episodes of Yuri!! On Ice. I ended up watching all of the episodes so far, and I can't wait for the next one. What a great show, all of the characters have such big personalities! This anime is making me gay and I love it, Viktor is dreamy.

I don't really have a problem with the number of shows this season- I'm watching about as many as I do any season. It's the timing of the shows that's problematic:
Monday: Scorching Pingpong
Tuesday: Nanbaka
Wednesday: Brave Witches, Cheating Craft, Yuri, Girlish Number
Thursday: Keijo, Flip Flap
Friday: Nothing
Saturday: Kiss HIm, wwwwwwwwagnaria, o;9, mahou shoujo ikusei keikaku, classicaloid
Sunday: Nothing

Stella no Mahou and Soushin Shoujo Matoi are shoved in whenever I happen to notice their having been released, but of the 14.5 shows I'm watching, 11.5 of them come out on two days. 2-3 each day would be easily manageable. That's also not counting Saiki Kusuo because I haven't the faintest idea how to count it. I haven't been keeping up with twin stars, but I would be if it were on a non-Wednesday/Saturday day. If I were watching Hibike, that'd also be a Wednesday thing, and that's another popular show.

In short, spread out the dates more, CR (or Japanese TV stations or whoever decides this crap), like you did a couple seasons ago.

i'm tentatively agreeing, but only if the show avoids that japanese thing where all the gays die at the end. sure, there haven't been any indications the show is gonna go that way but there have been so many otherwise excellent animes with terrible endings.

Yuri on Ice isn't even close to anime of the decade. That would be JoJo seasons 1 through 6 which spanned the entire 2010s
