I'm not jumping ship yet because Magic Johnson's history is "fail massively quickly and then quit at a pretty inopportune time" so I'm sure after the Melo/Rondo Lakers have six wins through February next season he'll quit 24 hours before the trade deadline.

You could argue that Magic taking over right now is so stupid that it makes moving to cheering the Suns a latteral move, but the Suns do have one of the worst GMs in the league, one of the worst owners, one of the worst coaches, and a rebuild that is going very poorly outside of Booker.

Yeah, Kobe was in the press last year pressuring Byron to play the young guys more minutes, especially when he was injured

Seriously, we just fired the staff that traded Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom (and no picks) for Chris Paul while lowering our luxury tax payments

They traded Bynum and extremely distant first rounder for Dwight

They traded traded Kwame, Marc Gasol's rights and a 1st round pick for Pau Gasol

In the last decade, they did all of those things

And we fired them

I'm a homer but I could easily see Lillard bringing back Drummond, PG, Butler, or the Brooklyn pick

Edit: I wonder if Portland could grab Brook Lopez for the Cleveland or Memphis pick and Evan Turner or something stupid like that

PDX rubbing salt into SACs wounds-

Dame for a dump truck of Phillies picks. Philly improves their record, making the pick swap hurt that much more with sac.

To be fair, no, they weren't. The Lakers had zero centers and SFs on their roster, and the closest things to superstars in Barnes and Whiteside wanted to play for winning teams. They paid literal market value for a non-D league level unrestricted free agents.

I'd argue Mosgov was an overpay. Like you shouldn't make that your first move and let the market decide his value. Deng I'd agree with you on.

Also according to David Aldridge and Zach Lowe, the reason that the Sixers held out Okafor for a few games is because they were very close to a deal with Portland for him. Don't know how much interest there is after trading for Nurkic, but could be interesting to see if anything happens there.

Mozgov clearly didn't work out, but still better than if they had gone after Ezeli, which is who most Laker's fans expected

Also, somehow Biyombo is putting extremely similar numbers to Mozgov
