Here's how the USA could miss the knockout rounds: US loses to Nicaragua Honduras beats Canada El Sal beats Jamaica edit: oh poo poo Martinique would have to draw or beat Panama, too, so it's not quite as possible as I thought. There are some goal differential scenarios that could keep the US in the knockouts as a third place team even if the above happens, but it's funny to me that the US hasn't locked this poo poo up yet (especially since I just bought tickets to the knockout round in Philly where the US will play if they are first or second in the group  )
