Yeah, that's just high-speed pacing/stereotypy. :( Dog needs some stimulation!

Get that dog to rally or something. Even if you aren't good at it, you can still have fun!

I went to the pet store to get a new tank for my turtle and accidentally adopted a guinea pig :shobon: Oops! Here's Morty.

He likes to run around a lot so I built him a deck. I later added vent holes to the lid of the deck and attached it because he gets so excited for his food that I was worried he'd fall out.

Well, of course not! Hell is only reserved for people hurting the bees.

I assume he has buddies? Guinea pigs are herd animals who do very poorly alone.

It's been said before but if you find a tired and cold bumble bee, it is easy and fun to restore them to full strength; just mix a little sugar with some warm water and offer it carefully to the bee. Care is needed because you don't want to spill it and get the bee's fuzzy coat all sticky. The bee will feast upon the sugar water and within in minutes will be fighting fit again.

I'm curious if there's a reason albinism seems more prevalent in guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and rabbits.

Seconding that Morty really needs a friend. Guinea Pigs are herd animals and it'll keep him happy when you're not in the room. Also be prepared for him to learn the sound of the fridge opening, along with the rustling of plastic bags, and wheeking his fuzzy brain put in the hopes of veggies.

Not yet, but he will. We just bought a house and I want to be absolutely sure when we get him a pal, that it's not actually a girl pal because I can't afford to house babies/a 2nd guinea setup right now. Would be lovely to take in a rescue pig only to generate more that we can't care for, you know?

Ohhhh I know, it's the best part of my morning :3:

e. and to totally clarify! Morty was solo with his first family and was surrendered to the pet store because they couldn't afford to care for him. So we didn't randomly adopt a single piggo just because, he was in need of a new home. We absolutely plan to get him a friend once we can and in the meantime I go wayyy out of my way to make sure I spend a lot of time talking to him and touching him because I know they don't like to live alone!

My family had an Australian terrier that learned to drag its feet on the carpet and give shocks with his nose. He wound up obsessed with shocking people, particularly my mom when she was napping on her bed. Little bugger would creep up and touch noses with her and I'd hear her yelp and shout at him. He'd come dashing out of the bedroom with that crazy expression dogs have when they know they're getting away with something.

Butt tucking and with his tail between his legs, too?

I don't know what that behaviour is properly called, but it's adorable and tells you the dog is having a wonderful time being silly.
