Looks like the traps were turned off so the priests wouldn't get minced on their way to the fight. Well, most of them.

If you put enough dudes in a hallway full of traps the traps eventually solve themselves.

I saw that too and was kinda confused if it was a trap like the one that killed 1-11 or something else because it looks so different (yet the same?). Also wondering why chainsaw staves or whatever the gently caress they are are so drat popular with the count. Would have expected some crazy abacus spears or calculator black rifles or something along those lines.

Motherfucker posted:Was it ever discussed what the little numbers on their amulets are about? I'm guessing that all Mammon's hench folk are individually numbered, with lower numbers constituting more value. Most of the people guarding the invisible maze have numbers three digits or less, which probably represents them being highly trusted. No one higher than 1000 is probably permitted to be that far in his sanctuary. The woman who represented him in the meeting of the demiurges doesn't have any number at all, which probably makes her top dog under Mammon.

Mr. Lobe posted:Consider that not all kills are equal. Perhaps kills are awarded style points, and this particular kill was just super fukkin' juicy. The lesser priests wield their chainsaw pikes hoping in vain get a kill as sweet as this. Nothing in the universe has value except what matters to Mammon, and what matters to Mammon is Warhammer figurines. Hence why he needs all that money.

The numbers are serial numbers, each Priest of the Count is also a one-Priest note in Mammon's official currency. They're inconvenient to carry but successful counterfeiting is almost unheard of

Probably their rank/debt to Mammon in whatever currency their cult uses. They do make a big deal of how Mammon has shed all of his debts, including abstract stuff like family bonds.
