man, Baki himself doesn't do very much in s2 I kind of get it, because none of the convicts are actually anywhere near his weight class (so to speak), but... it's a little odd e: as in Netflix s2, not the Maximum Tournament anime

I always thought that Retsu could be brought back with the explanation being that he learned from the old Kai-oh the ultimate defensive form of Chinese martial arts, which is to fake death. In Retsu's case, the feint was to get loving owned by Musashi with an injury that would very obviously kill anyone else. That or they just saved him in time and didn't tell anyone so he could have peace and time to recover. Actually, as I am typing this I have another theory on what was said could mean: They're going to graft Retsu's arm on Karate son's stump so his friend Retsu will always be with him fighting

Baki characters have lived through some absurd poo poo so I wouldn't be surprised if he was alive somehow. That said I just thought of the most Baki-rear end thing, which is what if Baki visualized a Retsu so real it could fight someone? Hell, he's literally hurt himself with visualizations of fighters before, and he can make himself as powerful as a dinosaur, so why not?

I just followed the fights on a YouTube channel that had the translations from that one group that charges people for them, anime fight club I think it was called. Also I bet Retsu had his bits replaced so he's a terracotta terminator
