The Sklar case affirms the precedent from the Supreme Court case Hernandez v. Commissioner that Scientologists can't deduct their course fees and other "fixed donations". (They can still deduct donations for buying buildings and so on.) What's needed now is that somebody with standing files a suit to compell the IRS to follow the law and the court rulings, or that Congress or the President take action. This was posted on a local forum. It's a quote from The Complex concerning Anonymous.quote:"Scientology was firmly on the world agenda and as my confidence grew, an organisation called Anonymous emerged. Anonymous are really a viral marketing version of a human rights movement. It is made up of regular people from all professions, creeds and religions across the world, who had decided to stand up and say 'this is enough'. I think this Internet-based group of wonderful activists will prove to be Scientology's nemesis. They believe in the right to freedom of speech and fight organisations that try to hide nefarious deeds behind the cloak of legal threats and 'public relations'. Anonymous run forums, print material, alert journalists and, since February 2008, have staged protests every single month outside every Scientology Centre in the world. Their mere existence has empowered me, and many others, to be even more vocal in exposing this abusive cult. They have given me huge strength and a new-found belief in the human race. The humanity and the sense of empathy I have gotten from these strangers, or as the Church of Scientology has described them 'cyber-terrorists', has been just gut wrenching for me. Each and every one of them who have contacted me, have expressed their disgust and shock at the conditions endured by staff and Sea Org members. * For those who haven't yet read the book, Alice is a young woman who was crippled after a suicide attempt at Saint Hill.

Celebrities get death threats all the time; if they're real I hope law enforcement deals with them, as they should. Anonymous has inside "sources" too, and according to them, Cruise is really worried about the Scientology protestors overshadowing his movie premieres - they don't want a repeat in London of what happened in New York and LA where the reporters seemed more interested in the protestors than the movie. London anons are you ready to overshadow his premiere? And to act as his bodyguards if these threats turn out to be real? ![]() Perhaps somebody should follow up on this FBI story and see if it's real? When CoS spokesthetan Tommy Davis said on CNN that the FBI were investigating anti-Scientology protestors for attacking epilepsy forums, CNN had already done their homework and got a statement from the FBI which showed that Davis was wrong. Journalists? Anyone? Back to the movie: I had a look at the IMDb boards to see if there were any shitstorms there about this moderately successful WWII movie. And boy, either this poster should become a professional troll, or it's the living caricature of a Scientologist on the Internet:

Scientology has a new year's event which is pre-recorded and shown in all orgs at New Year's. David Miscavige has always been the MC at these events. You might remember him showing graphics of Scientology sending figurative hand grenades to government offices and vaxing about Global Oblitteration of psychiatry and "Apocalypse Now", as well as praising corporate sponsorships of Scientology programs without those corporations' knowledge. The following is a rumor, but from several sources: David Miscavige was not hosting this year's event, but left the job to Tom Davis (famous for being Anne Archer's son, failing on CNN, and failing in the most recent Panorama documentary where BBC's man practiced Tone 40). It was taped in LA, but not in the the usual location. People were asking Where in the World is David Miscavige. Had he taken the money and run away? Then he was spotted at Flag in California attending the screening of the recorded event, so DM has been found. A previous time where DM was oddly absent from an event like this was when the Lisa McPherson case was about to hit. Is there some flap developing which requires DM's presence in Florida, or is he preparing to pass the baton to a new figurehead? Vir fucked around with this message at Jan 02, 2009 around 07:01 |

It's not like it hasn't happened before. http://www.slatkinfraud.com/ quote:Earthlink co-founder Reed Slatkin, an unregistered investment manager and ordained Scientology minister, admitted to defrauding clients of approximately 255 million dollars in a Ponzi-type investment scheme.
