That old thread was too drat long. Time for a new thread. Welcome to the CineD General Chat thread! Here's where we talk about stuff. And junk. Y'know. Whatever. (Mostly comic books and wrestling.) If a movie has a thread already, talk about it in that thread, not in here. Vargo posted:What's the order of Rocky movies by quality? No, it's Rocky, Rocky IV, Rocky IV again, the first fifteen minutes of Rocky III, the training montage from Rocky IV, the speech from the end of Rocky IV, and then the fight scene in Rocky V that was choreographed by Terry Funk.

My favorite part from any Rocky movie is the montage from Rocky IV that show both of them training. Rocky out in the pure nature and Drago in an evil Soviet laboratory.

I love all of them except Rocky V about equally for different reasons, and even Rocky V isn't terrible

Rocky V is a pretty dismal film by most standards, but watching Tommy Gunn get his rear end handed to him at the end is a great payoff as he was the most annoying character in the history of film. I just realized I've never seen Rocky II or V, I'm slightly surprised to see II so far down on so many people's lists, I'd always assumed it was nearly as highly regarded as the first.

To be fair, I actually rated II-V the same so there really isn't much difference between each one. But Rocky and Rocky Balboa are loving great.

Oh sweet, new thread. Voted 5 already I saw The Raid 2 earlier, and axleblaze, I couldn't disagree with you more. That movie loving ruled. I haven't decided yet if I liked it even more than the first one, but it was certainly at least on par with the first one. It wasn't as fast paced as the original, but I didn't find that to be a bad thing at all. In fact, I felt it benefitted from that. It gave the whole thing a grander scale and the fight scenes felt even more intense because they were given room to breathe, and the fight scenes were at least as gruesome as those in the first one, if not moreso. I feel like I said "Jesus Christ!" and "holy gently caress!" under my breath at least as many times as I did when I saw the first Raid in theaters, and there were lots of gasps in my theater. What I'm saying is go see that loving movie or else you'll regret it. I need to buy this on Blu Ray when it comes out so I can watch the making of. There were so many shots that brought a poo poo eating grin to my face.
