So was I hallucinating earlier today or did I see a Cocoa Pebbles commercial earlier today where Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were going all and shooting lasers at each other screaming "Yabba...dabba...DOOOOOOOO"? Please tell me someone else has seen this, I can't find any trace of it on the internet. Zamboni_Rodeo posted:So apparently the apex of success is working for minimum wage at a mall kiosk and having a friend of yours from the food court boil the water for your shells and cheese: For some reason whenever I hear the voiceover guy in that commercial I think of Jon Stewart's George W. Bush impression. Somehow it doesn't seem unusual at all that George W. Bush would totally be into the guy who flies around knickknacks at the mall and eats boxed mac and cheese for dinner.

gently caress those 50% cash back commercials with the toddler. It is a baby who wants everything offered to her! Except 50% cash back! hahaha genius Zamboni_Rodeo posted:So apparently the apex of success is working for minimum wage at a mall kiosk and having a friend of yours from the food court boil the water for your shells and cheese: I don't get the hate for these commercials, I thought they seemed pretty funny and self-aware. Claiming that eating shells and cheese will make you like "That Guy You Know" isn't really a glamorous proposition. They are like the opposite of all those commercials that focus on how product x is used by attractive successful people who are more popular than you.

the "You kids have it easy" commercial from AT&T bugs the hell out of me. The little kid has a friend over, and they're playing on a laptop and an IPad respectably. The hell is the point of having your friend over if you're not going to go play outside, play a game inside, talk with him or hell..even just play a loving video game? Go play with legos or hot wheels. Go make a movie with a camera, go shoot some hoops, go play madden head to head. Go ride your bikes, Go play in the woods, Don't waste your time watching "Gagnam Style" for the 50th time. It just pisses me off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASLQhVNfFeA "You kids have got it too good if you ask me" Yeah, gently caress off. No kid under 14 should own an IPad. Maybe you guys have been over this already, but is the couple from those DirecTV commercials with the big blue screen the same couple in a recent Discover card commercial? The Discover commercial is pretty nondescript; they're in an airport going on vacation in some tropical place. If it is the same couple, are they like a package deal or something when they try for parts?

So sick of seeing and hearing the inescapable Windows 8 commercial with an uninspired remake of "Express Yourself" by Charles Wright. It's just some dude talking over the drum break to "Funky Drummer" by James Brown, and then you hear "EXPRESS YOURSELF!" and some horn stabs from the Charles Wright song, and that's about it. Talk about annoyingly unoriginal and lovely. Oh yeah, there's some people doing Windows 8 stuff or something. I don't know. The song gets on my nerves more than the commercial.

The one where the guy comes in right after the first verse and says "DOITALLAGAIN!" To me, it's the worst sort of lame, pandering-to-white-folks-in-an-attempt-to-sound-"hip"-and-"urban" type of jingle (which is especially dumb as it's advertising an island getaway vacation), and it makes me cringe whenever I hear it.

Okay, has anyone seen the Verizon commercial where they ask the "real college students" (as the small text on the bottom claims) where they keep asking them to look at graphs saying "who has the most coverage" over and over? And then the last "college student" is the woman who played Cameron on House for 3-4 years? Did they really think we would not recognize her?

After yesterday, I have a brand new seething hatred for the Little Caesar's commercial with the mime. It's obvious that they're trying to be "wacky" but it's just terrible and falls flat. Why is this my new most hated commercial? Because while watching one episode of a show on National Geographic yesterday, the drat thing aired eight times. In an hour. I poo poo you not. They aired it as the first commercial of the commercial break and then again as the last commercial of the commercial break. Times four. gently caress you, Little Caesar's. I'm in a band and I need to post a status update on my facebonk page but my 3G phones don't use data anymore which means that I need to update my phone to 4G data speeds so now that I can do that, do you want to be our manager? I understand that there is a drive for cell phone providers to move their customers from a 3G phone/plan to a 4G data plan. But these commercials as of late make it sound like that as soon as 4G gets lit in a metropolitan area, those that are on 3G are signalfucked.
