I played a solo Bronze Cerberus game (mostly to test out Explosive Rounds, which are seriously underwhelming compared to their counterpart in the original Mass Effect game) and I saw a few examples of "[Cryo Explosion] Assault Trooper" after landing a Havoc Strike. Thanks, guys. I tried testing the first thing with Cryo Ammo instead of Cryo Blast, but I think it turns out that Cryo Ammo only sets up combos on freezable enemies. Just to confirm, GulMadred: you were using Havoc Strike on something that wasn't already fully frozen, correct? Shame about damage reduction getting capped. Not that it matters much except for that gimmick, but still.

Snap Freeze will definitely set up Cryo Explosions on anything (I was doing that for hours this afternoon), but apparently Cryo Blast/Cryo Ammo will not. Edit: can someone check whether Cryo Shield acts like Snap Freeze (set up on anything) or like the other cryo powers (only sets up when the enemy gets frozen)? Edit 2: Same for Sticky Grenades with Cryo Ammo (also, please double-check that Sabotage sets up a tech burst, because I may have messed that up). This test may require a teammate with a power that can detonate combos. Thanks in advance! Zoran fucked around with this message at 05:09 on Oct 10, 2012 |

Some thoughts: Collectors . So now pubbies are farming White/Geth/Silver. Congrats Bioware, you really showed 'em. Also, I hate this new thing where the game counts down if 3 out of 4 people ready up. Is it so loving hard to just wait? What is the problem there? If the fourth person takes forever, he can get booted, that's why there's a kick option.

For me, the anti-farming changes make much more sense when I view them in the context of the upgrade lottery and buying Microsoft points.

There is a whole lot of going on in this thread. Maybe more than I've seen since people learned about the Vanguard de-sync bug. The Collectors really can be tricky and some of their units seem cheap (I'm lookin at you, possessed scion), but considering they've been out for, what, 12 hours? It's too early to tell whether they're really broken or not. I've had a lot of success against them on gold so far, sometimes extracting, sometimes dying on extraction. They're not that bad, even with pubbies. I admit, preatorian rushes during the objective waves can just absolutely gently caress you. I guess it's probably not possible to beat Collectors without consumables. Really, I've probably laughed harder after this DLC than any other time during playing ME3. Abomination nukes are too funny.

I did what had to be done. (And then revived them all afterward. ) Fun fact, krogan on silver doesn't get quite killed by the reactor, and you can even come out with more than one bar of health if you abuse cover DR. The first match on Hazard Reactor I just locked myself in there as many times as I could just because I could. "This radiation reminds me of home. "

It may just be that the get bomber isn't very much affected by overload due to armor or something, but I just played around with my human engineer against some silver geth and the bomber drones would just shake a bit and take no damage. No effect, no damage; it's as if overload somehow went through them. It may have also been lag but that's a new one for instant-hit powers. In other news they make hack objectives even worse; enjoy getting flushed out of the hack circle into pyros and stunlock hunters constantly.

This game has become quite a bit more difficult, even with the newly acquired techsplosion powers at our disposal. It only needs a few tweaks to remove the extra annoying poo poo and it'll be at a good challenge level to be even more fun. I'd say ditch the shields on the bombers, and make the super-rape projectile weapon the scion shoots move noticeably slower so you can have a chance to dodge it. As it is now, it's almost like a ravager, banshee, and geth prime all in one. As I said before, they're surely going to make some changes, but I don't think that they'd need to do much more than that to really dampen the irritation factor the new faction makeups can provide.

I unlocked both the Turians. Not really sure what to do with them. The Havoc I specced for melee, not realizing that Havoc Strike isn't Biotic Charge. Havoc Strike-> Heavy Melee is fun and all, but I die so much and so fast. The Ghost... that makes more sense, just cloak->overload->ratatatatatat. I did unlock the harrier, which is pretty nice here, but oh god my lack of ammo.

Samurai Sanders posted:I've been using the asari adept for the first time, what enemies should I be using pull on and what enemies should I be using reave on? Reave is used on everything else. Be aware that its actual effectiveness against shields is lousy, but you should use it anyways. A shielded Reaved enemy can be detonated by Sphere, Warp, Throw, etc... If nothing else, your Reave damage will interfere with the target's shields regeneration, and meanwhile you'll be keeping yourself alive via Reave's secondary Damage Resistance effect. * Except Seeker Swarms. You can hit them with Pull, but they keep moving normally and I haven't succesfully detonated any of them. Just Reave and shoot them instead. Alteisen posted:Praetorians are way to sync kill happy. GulMadred posted:Pull is used on things with health* (to prime them for a Reave detonation), on Guardians (to followup with another Pull, or simply to let your teammates shoot them to death), and to interrupt Phantoms (since they'll stop moving briefly to activate their power-immunity shield; you can then Reave and shoot them). Very rarely/situationally, it can be used against an armored/shielded target - it won't damage or incapacitate the target, but it will provide a half-second of stagger which might be sufficient to line up a headshot (or sneak past, or run away, etc).
