Sniper 5

His vision obscured by Mad Dog's smoke grenade and the effects of Mr. Clean's flashbang, the sniper is more or less forced to blindfire into the haze in front of him, hoping to hit the vague figures he can barely make out.

1 - Mr. Clean, 2 - Capstick, 3 - Melody, 4 - Rigged Deck, 5 - Mad Dog

Randomly choose a target: 3#1d5 2 5 3

He takes a shot at Capstick.

Sniper attack: 12d6t5 3

Snipers 3 and 4

Having also been affected by the flashbang and smoke, both fire into the cloud, this time at Melody and Mad Dog.

Sniper Attack on Mad Dog: 12d6t5 4

Sniper Attack on Melody: 12d6t5 4

Roll your defenses; Melody is up.

Mad Dog drops lower behind her cover, flinching slightly as a bullet ricochets just above her head. "Want me to jump first? I can take point and maybe clear some guys on the ground!"

Of all the times to glitch...

Ok, you still got two hits, though, so that'll help a bit. If this brings you past overflow, you can still burn one edge to save your rear end. So let's see...

2 net hits. The gun is a Remington 950. Modified damage is 14P. Definitely exceeds your armor, so damage is physical. AP -4.

Glitch Effect. The force of the shot slams you to the ground where you bash your head. If you are even conscious after this, all dice pools will be at a -2 penalty (except damage soaks, of course), due to a concussion.

Make your damage soak roll.

And if my math is wrong, everybody just be quiet.

Melody takes a nasty looking shot to the side of the head. She manages to barely crawl to the edge of the building, just out of sight of the snipers before collapsing.

Anyone attempting to treat her can be treated as if fully covered.

Sniper 6

The smoke is still thick, but this guy didn't get flashed. He still has trouble making out your forms, and much fire randomly.

He swings the barrel of his rifle in the direction of Rigged Deck and fires.

Sniper Attack: 14d6t5 6

Oh sure, now Orokos treats me right. Rigged, defend against a ranged attack. Don't forget, the smoke is giving you partial cover, so +2 to your defense.

Sniper 2 - 28
Mr. Clean - 25
Sniper 1 - 24
Mad Dog - 22
Sniper 5 - 22
Sniper 3 - 19
Sniper 4 - 19
Melody - 18

Capstick - 16
Rigged Deck - 15

Once you all start jumping, the entrance to the garage is close enough to complete your move action with, so once you make the jump, you are officially out of sight of the snipers.

I don't have a wound modifier I only took 2 out of 3 boxes needed to have one to my understanding from my last damage soak roll. I'm bruised but without a limp in my step yet. If I didn't dodge I would like to reroll the hit. Also this is how I was gonna roll mine

9 [Reaction]+5 [Intuition] (those two are my base ranged defense always)+4 (Good Cover or at worst +2 for partial). Good cover is defined by something that hides more than 50% of my body. I took the take cover action on my turn and I assume the roof has a little building hut type thing which leads to the stairwell. I'd have gotten behind that first and stuck out my gun, my head, part of my arm and maybe a bit of my leg but not much else. Here is are pictures for food for thought on how my dude would be positioned before he starts popping off grenade rounds.

http://imgur.com/sk6z0O3,kBt9EVp#1

Actually here, here's the defense roll. Physical Limit is 6 so I lose 2 hits but still.
My roll happens before anyone else popped smoke so I don't get the benefit of that.
Ranged Defense (Full Cover) 18d6t5: 8

Also in regards to trauma patches I am the medic so I should have them. They technically are not on my sheet but I have a rating 6 medikit with spare supplies so I assume they come with them, if not they'd be covered by lifestyle. Cut me a break on this one coach I got the money to spare for em heh, i'd have probably brought a few. I can stabilize Rigged Deck if need be but we can't treat him on a rooftop being shot by snipers. It'll delay us too long I think. Need to get him away first.

Nah, I get it. No way a slick guy like Clean brings a medkit with no trauma patches. And at your lifestyle, yeah, of course you have them. We'll stick with your dodge roll, then, sorry for the mistake with the wound modifier, phoneposting most of today.

Rigged is fine, just knocked down, but Melody is at Death's door. She's bleeding this round and next. Any more than that and she's gone. Should be enough time to get her indoors, at least, to the stairwell hut you're hiding behind.

Clean ducks behind the stairwell building, hearing the loud cracks of sniper fire and a shot impacting the corner of the hut, kicking up pits of concrete and dust. Then he hears another crack, and then another. Both times right after he hears the sickening sound of it piercing a human body. Clean turns to see the thermals of two of their team dropping down. The one tagged as Rigged starts crawling about but the other one stays down and its tagged as Melody. [Rigged is hit but mobile, Melody is down, moving her to cover. Change of plans, Capstick kick the loving door down and get us inside the stairwell. We'll do the hop from the next floor down where we have some goddamn cover. I'll see if she's still alive, lets go!] Mr. Clean mentally commands as he starts to burst from cover to drag Melody back behind the hut to slap a trauma patch on.

Not my turn so I don't actually do a thing, yet. Capstick will do whatever the gently caress he likes on his turn though. If you can stabilize her stabilize her but we need that door out the way and breaking it down as opposed to opening it would be faster. Don't think Melody would survive another rappel without treatment and even then its iffy.

"Reload can wait!" Mad Dog shouts as she dashes over to the bag, swiftly grabs a trauma patch, and practically pounces onto Melody. "Stabilizing!"

She activates the wireless auto-stabilize settings on the patch after attaching it. Better not to rely on her shoddy first aid skills.

Going to stabilize Melody using the wireless setting on the patch.

The roof of the building erupts in a massive blast of sound and fire, hurling the guards in every direction, many to the street far below. What remains is the smoking ruins of a stairwell access and a few charred body parts. Ground troops flee from the falling debris and bodies. They won't stay back too long, but you should be able to easily escape now.

This is definitely going to end up on the news.

Combat, for now, is over. Melody is inside with Capstick. You have just enough time to treat her.

Edit: ok, Melody is unconscious but stable. Everyone go ahead and wrap up the details of your escape and we'll begin the next phase of the run.

The roof is gone. The fire alarm, and pretty much every other alarm in this building and all the surrounding ones is blaring.

Gently lifting Meg onto his shoulder, Niles heads down the stair case, Mr Clean and Mad Dog leading the way. Kicking in the door to the basement, Niles lays Meg down and wrenches the hatch off the sewer and motions the team to head in.

So, the rough plan we worked out goes as follows:

1)Get to one of Clean's safehouses
a)Maybe move the targets to a different location?
2)Get Meg to a doc of some sort.
3)Have Rigged look around and see if there is any info on what happened, re: the other team and the insanely huge initial SK response. This seems like a way way bigger deal then Mr Kim let on. I assume Clean has some contacts to check with as well. I think it will be smart to take a day to see what the fallout is before we contact Mr Kim.

"Wait one!" Clean shouts as he scrambles over to Melody and repeats the same act he did for that Arcturus chap except faster and with much more focus. He's not showing off anymore for another team he's trying to make sure a friend stays alive. After she's patched he puts the armor jacket back on and gets back up, reloading the rocket launcher and then changing the grenade mag from flash to thermal smoke. He then calls Rigged Deck over to patch his wounds though he has less luck due to how augmented he is. He won't leak anymore at least. [I have point, I'll walk us out. Squad way is actual we are taking the sewers as our egress and going to ground at Nav Gamma.] With that AR representations and a yellow brick road pulls up in everyones AR display if they have them. [Rigged Deck get me a floorplan out of here and find me the fastest way down. Pull the fire alarm after we're exiting the building so we don't get caught up in a chokepoint. Oh and get me loaded up.] Clean says as he opens up his suit jacket and starts throwing ingram smartgun mags out of the "webbing" underneath and starts reaching for APDS mags for the Ares Alpha and 2 grenade launcher magazine of HE.

"Lets go." Mr. Clean says as he leads off down some stairwell Ares Alpha at the ready.

First Aid on Rigged Deck 13d6t5: 2
Healing rules on pg. 205. tl;dr I strip off the armor jacket melody had on before I do any treament so there's no halved wounds. She gets back 2 hitboxes since threshold is 2. It takes me 2 combat turns to treat her so nbd. Complex Action to reload the rocket launcher, simple action to reload the grenade launcher with Thermal Smoke and the same probably to stash the partial flash grenade mag in the duffel. A turn to treat Rigged Deck though I don't go over the threshold so he doesn't actually heal anything he's just patched up I guess. Well within 12-15 seconds time. Possibly another 15 seconds or so if i get help loading up for the next part.

Mr. Clean after preparing will be carrying a spare clip for the ares 75 pistol, 4 mags for the ares alpha and 2 grenade launcher magazines, one on each side of the jacket. I can't possibly see room for anything else.

I can treat Melody inhouse for a day. The S-K guys know they clipped a few of us so street docs are going to be checked in on. Closest safehouse will be the underground rave I booked in some office building nearby. We can sit down there for a few hours before figuring out where else to move and it'll provide us security in the fact there's a crowd someone would have to shove through to get to us. Then we head out to another bolthole far far away from here but I want to be in and out of the sewers as fast as possible in somewhere we can lay our heads. Need to figure out whats happening on the news, the matrix, etc. and we can't do that on the run. Then yeah bounce to any safehouse from there, the farther out of town the better. Probably arrange for a vehicle to be stashed at a sewer exit so we can drive out of town heh.

edit: I have a connections 2 Loyalty 5 Nurse contact I can use but I need to know if their a chance they got a clue I was involved in the hit. I'm gonna rely on rigged to check on the aftermath before I call this contact in. She can treat melody/rigged further once we are safe.

I can call my smuggler contact (Connection 4 , Loyalty 3) and get him to loan/rent us a boat and driver for a while if you think that is safer then moving by ground. Remember we only had 72h to pull this job so we need to get a very quick handle on what the gently caress happened and get back to Mr Kim. Rigged and Melody might have to sit out the meet with Kim but at least Rigged can provide matrix overwatch.

Rigged nods and dives into the Matrix, grabbing blueprints and triggering alarms as he goes. He also makes sure to keep a window open, actively looking up any information on the chaos, looking for hints on who may be trying to hunt them down, and when the Corp calls it off as a write off.

"I'll keep an ear to the ground to see how mad SK is. Depending on how valuable this chip is, we may want to deliver it sooner rather then later, if just to get them off our trail."

Publicly, this is being framed as a possible accident or corporate warfare, depending on where you look. Details are still forthcoming and not much has been compiled this early.

Details on the chip are non-existent, at least at the surface of the Matrix. Now is probably not ideal, but eventually, someone probably knows someone who knows what the chip is. Anyone with a contact at SK could figure it out fairly quickly.

I have an S-K Johnson who keeps tabs of burned S-K operatives like myself but it would be a risk I don't know if I want to take. I also don't give a poo poo what it is. This is business to me. I just want to make sure we are covered against further retribution and we have time to enjoy our money.
