How many Flyers does it take to make a save? Apparently six, because there were only five in the crease.

Jam Band Death Cult posted:So uh, where does "cathorse" come from? Ok this is going back a few seasons now. I think it was the first year Gionta was captain. The first home game they did a thing where he introduced the team and, bless him, he tried to do at least the numbers in French as well as English. Brian Gionta's French was Not Good. So when he said 'quatorze' for 14 (Plex's number) it sounded precisely like Cat Horse.

Jam Band Death Cult posted:So uh, where does "cathorse" come from? This was explained to me as well so if I get this wrong, FORGIVENESS. A few years back when Gionta was captain he was introducing the players for the first home game, saying their numbers in French. He's not a great French speaker and quatorze (fourteen) sounded like Cathorse.

My favorite part of that I read about much later was that apparently Max Lapierre had been giving Gionta static about his bad French for days so when Gionta got to Lapierre's intro he deliberately butchered it.
