I can't think of a single way a Boner or taking the drugs that give you them could possibly be funny.

I can't remember who it was but somebody questioned me on Tony having a better shot against McGregor than Khabib--Tony's a rangy southpaw with an iron chin and a hell of a lot more tools than Nate Diaz. Conor's a real loving tough puzzle to crack and I think he blows Khabib's head off as he's moving in, but hell who knows at this point?

david carmichael posted:certainly. but like what's the most title defenses in lightweight history? frankie edgar's staggering one win in a row? i think conor's accomplishments at featherweight are extremely impressive, but also the combination of how much he achieved and how much bigger he was than everyone else makes me never want to see him fight anyone at feather ever again because it seems pointless and unfair. winning the lightweight title is cool, but bringing that up in addition to his fw accomplishments feels like conor bragging about how he totally could have beat up big john after he beat aldo. he already did the big thing, you don't have to pretend like the other thing is also a big thing I hadn't thought about it much, but I think you're pretty much dead on here. Killing Aldo in 13 seconds is the peak and probably will be unless he moves up again and kills Tyron Woodley. The two belt thing always seemed like a bit of a farce to me, with Conor having zero 145 title defenses and almost certainly having no intention of ever returning to 145. Not to take anything away from how good he looked beating Alvarez. Based on what we've seen, anyone who is at a height and reach disadvantage and is right handed is going to have a hell of a time with Conor. I would say Tony is the best match up in the contender list at 155. I love my boy Nate and he already has a win and one close decision loss to McGregor, but I feel like he most likely gets leg kicked to death again and probably drops another decision in a rematch. Tony has the best chance at winning for the reasons you listed, but Tony gets hit a lot and that might be bad for him against McGregor. That said, his head movement and defense seemed greatly improved against Dos Anjos and hopefully he could make similar improvements before a hypothetical match up with McGregor. threeagainstfour fucked around with this message at 06:59 on Nov 15, 2016 |

I kinda think Conor would have an easier time beating Bisping than he would Woodley, so he should just ask for a fight with Bisping and beat him. And then tell Woodley he needs to do more in this sport before he can ask to fight him.

Also Fergie's takedowns are pretty loving weird and indirect meaning he might stand a better chance of landing a takedown against a McGregor that has mastered sprawling than some other wrestlers have had.

Woodley probably has the kind of power to ruin Conor's chin in one shot, but his habit of standing with his back to the cage and not doing much could make that a very funny fight.

I'd like to see Woodley fight Maia next, especially since Wonderboy got busted up and Woodley seems fresh to go soon. I honestly don't know how Woodley didn't win that fight but...judging. Fight Maia next, then win or lose the Wonderboy rematch makes sense after

I just want a drat Tyron Woodley title fight in St Louis and having a fight of the night on the biggest PPV in history that warrants an immediate rematch is probably not conducive to that happening.

Off the top of my head, Aldo showed some very impressive use of fouls/potentially being fouled against mendes. Teixeira did well to spit his mouthguard twice against jones, probably saving himself from being finished.

Eddie's statement is pretty great. In short he congratulates Conor and his team and says his plan was to circle away from the left and wrestle and he did the exact opposite and paid dearly. No mentions of a legendary 10000 year meteor or Big John kicking a skateboard towards him. https://www.instagram.com/p/BM1eoO5g7Qu/

One of the better post-loss responses, there's no bullshit there at all. That actually contributes to wanting see him get a rematch someday.

Agreed. Still gonna institute my three month post-loss rule because Conor sounded great after he lost Diaz and then he actually fought a man of 250lbs and moved to Iceland.
