couldn't understand bane's whatever-the-hell-that-was

in conclusion I need to watch the movie again but with subtitles

Well, first, it's an awesome action sequence.

Second, it parallels Batman's abduction of Lau in the Dark Knight - for example, there's an identical shot of Batman/Bane being drawn up to a plane. Bane is the Anti-Batman.

Three, it was a ruse to get Bruce Wayne to turn on the fusion machine - with the only scientist who knows how to weaponize the device dead, Wayne might be convinced it's safe to turn on. Also to put the CIA on a wrong trail.

Four, it shows the conviction of Bane's followers. These aren't just hired thugs, but devotees. IE they are members of The League of Shadows.

Yeah, it's deep stuff.

Consider the entire movie a metaphor for a suicidal man, who overcomes his suicidal ideation through love (and violence).

I spent my rent money on tentacle porn.
Is it true they removed the scene of the army soldiers hanging from the bridge in the DVD/Blu Ray versions because of that kid who shot up the theatre? Because that's dumb as poo poo and Batman seeing that on the grainy prison TV was the best scene in the film.

this is intentional. christopher nolan intentionally mixes the sound to make the dialogue difficult to understand because he thinks its textured and cinematic

I thought it was ok, Bane was a decent character, and the intro scene was great in IMAX.

Only IRL person I know who didn't like it also wanted to get into a fight with me because I thought Predators was ok. Same person had a stroke in his early 20s from severe obesity, not sure if he has a forums account though.

god bless
You clearly didn't learn anything - the film was trying to show you that if you take rich people and cops out of society, everyone else would just run rampant and run kangoroo courts headed by literal crazy people! Without their betters to lead them, the average Joes of the world would instantly turn to savagery!

So I guess Bane did have a good idea, because that's exactly what he understood (and wanted). He's no left-wing liberal at all, he knows what's up.

the first bane voice was way more interesting but too obscured
what we actually got was an imitation of what the director wanted instead of a refinement

and i am really surprised they would cut "we had to find out what he had told you about us" to "we had to find out what he had told you"
whoever thought "about us" was meaningless redundant text doesnt understand dialogue it changes the implication of the secrecy to the trivial (and already redundant even 3 minutes into the movie) matter that there does exist a plan from the far more interesting implication that the group is insular, secretive about everything it does not just this, secretive about what it in fact is, and is an ideological group
those 2 words change the how the audiences first perception of bane and what he represents whether or not theyre aware of it

find a fart joke and get rid of that instead ya dumb editors
(the cut was probably due to an emphasis on changing the scene released as preview from the higher studio ranks due to public criticism though)

I love the movie, but still agree. Not sure why they cut the "what he had told you about us". It makes the airplane scene make way more sense as not only are they abducting the scientist, they are covering their trail.

No, it probably wasn't. David Goyer is a total hack who's career peaked with Demonic Toys and bottomed out with Man of Steel.

Both of those are better than Man of Steel.

There's no shame in talking about the best comic book movie, and the best villain.

quote:

Home, where I learned the truth about despair, as will you. There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as I terrorize Gotham, I will feed its people hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe they can survive so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to "stay in the sun." You can watch me torture an entire city and when you have truly understood the depth of your failure, we will fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny... We will destroy Gotham and then, when it is done and Gotham is ashes, then you have my permission to die.
