I feel like we're going way overboard with the offensive coordinator explanation if we're throwing Kaepernick into it. The same administration made Alex Smith look 100x better than he ever had before and it only turned south this year with the decline of their offensive line and Kaepernick himself. The odds that Mariota lands in a better situation for a QB than San Francisco are extremely low.

San Francisco was great at hiding both Kaepernicks and Alex Smiths weaknesses by running the ball and limiting how many times they had to throw. This year, for some dumb reason, they said gently caress it and are now throwing the ball a lot more than usual. Through 10 games this year, Kaepernick has thrown the ball 30+ times in 7 games. He only threw the ball 30+ times twice through 16 regular season games last year.

Hmm yes. Let's give the worst team in the league the hardest schedule in the league, and then use it to pretend they are better than they really are. ~parity~

The schedules work the same way for every team. Sorry the Raiders hit their nadir in the same year that they got the NFC West and a better-than-usual AFC East.

Not for the west coast they don't. Raiders are always top 5 in distance traveled every year. They gave us London this season as well, and stripped us a home game for the trouble. :v:

I understand the logic that if the Raiders and Jaguars have equal records but the Jaguars played easier teams and still did terrible that they are the worst team.

I have watched 0 Jaguars games this season so I can't speak to their level of awfulness. I am just rooting for them to win another game or two so that the Raiders get the #1 pick.

I mean I guess their defense has improved since Bradley got there? If they still suck next year he's probably on the hot seat.

Eh, in order of need

1. RT
2. DE
3. TE
4. WR
5. QB

Anyone who thinks we need to draft another QB is fooling themselves right now. We're not doing better than Hoyer short of whooshing someone in a trade for like Cutler, and drafting a rookie QB sets that team back continuity wise. A road grader at RT makes the line utterly terrifying and sets up the run game better. A TE could help the passing spacing more. DE would be nice just because there's no such thing as too many 3-4 DEs on a team. I would love to replace Miles Austin if possible. And drafting another QB is silly. Frankly, we're going to be really loving good the next two years no matter what, and we have two first rounders to play with this year. It's a good time to be a Browns fan for once.

Shane Ray is fun to watch like Aldon Smith was fun to watch if that helps any. Hopefully he's not crazy/stupid like Aldon is.
