Directed by: Gary Burns Starring: Fab Filippo, Don McKellar A talented cast (an all-too-rare occurance in Canadian films) portrays a group of depressed, bored, and slightly neurotic cube-dwellers who create a competition to see who can remain indoors the longest. The competition is made possible by the fact that there's a corridor system (Calgary's skywalk) connecting their apartments and the mega-building they all work at. While certainly not filled with  moments, the movie is quirky and filled with subtle humor. As the competition goes on the characters experience hallucations, delusions, and other "psychological comedy" (stolen from an IMDB review, it's a great description). Don McKellar's minor character, a silent and creepy coworker who spends most of his time playing some sort of astronaut Flash game is a memorable character.It's a wonderful and original comedy, a little slow and arty at times, but certainly not excessive enough to turn most people away. It's excellent both as a comedy and a criticism of urban modernization. The direction is great, the entire movie has the same soft dreamy texture to it. I've been trying to track down a copy of this for about a year now. An artsy Office Space is a great way to put it. RATING: 4.5

Great movie, for those of you who are trying to track it down, I know for a fact that it's been released to DVD because the local independant video store has a rental copy of it. But yes, a really quirky and hilarious film about a bet to see who can stay inside the longest. Of course some of the acting is a little off at times, but otherwise a great addition to the small collection of great canadian movies. Rating: 4
