I am actually more a fan of The Royal Tennenbaums than I am of Rushmore, but I don't know if that has any significance here. I thought the movie began a bit slowly, but definately picked up and turned out to be an excellent film. I didn't connect with the characters as much as I do with RT, but I have seen that film many, many times and this one only once. I found the scene where everyone put their hands on Steve's shoulders sort of moving, not really humorous in anyway. Also, there was one line I didn't understand where Jane says that in 12 years her son will be 11 1/2 and Steve says something along the lines of, "That was my favorite time." I didn't quite connect that yet, but I'm sure I will next time, as well as liking the movie more overall. 4.5/5
