Saw this scene repeatedly in the mid-'80s on HBOish type channels.

Guy (possibly Steve Martin, Leslie Nielsen, or Chevy Chase) gets shot by a woman, I think, falls dead onto a chalk outline from another body, but with his arms pointed the opposite way, then he twitches and matches the outline.

Pretty sure this is Mr. Mom with Michael Keaton. I think it's a scene where he falls asleep and imagines he's in a soap opera. It was on HBO all the time.

There was this movie from the 80's where this girl buys a prom dress from a thrift store but it has a stain on it, so she covered it up with a flower. When she gets to the prom this popular bitch recognizes the dress as being her old prom dress so she rips off the flower pin revealing the stain underneath and embarrassing the thrift store girl in front of the whole school.

I saw this too but I can't remember what it's from either. I'm thinking it might be from some crappy family TV show like Full House or Growing Pains or something, not that I ever watched those...

A film made between the late 50's to early 70's, set in the pacific theatre of WWII.

Have no idea about who any of the actors were, but it's about a bunch of allied soldiers(mix of Brits and Americans) who set out for some reason into the bush and the adventure is filled with Japanese ambushes, illness and jungle weather. By the end there are only a few left and when they are just 100 metres away from their final destination they are confronted by a Japanese machine gun nest in their way. Two of them decide to run past the machine gun in a zig-zag pattern to avoid its fire(ridiculous solution), however one is killed and the sole survivor has reached his destination in a bitter-sweet fashion, losing all his comrades.

I posted this in GBS but no one got it. It was a movie from the early 80's, possibly a TV movie. I vaguely remember a lady turns up with amnesia and my memory is fuzzy but the only thing she remembers is a symbol which she draws down. At the end they figure out the symbol is a tattoo of two initals that is on the arm of someone who was trying to kill her(?). I think the symbol was the letter V on top of the letter W. Also at some point there may be a car accident where a car is going off a cliff.

At one point I thought it might be the movie Jane Doe from 1983 but I watched that and that's not it.

Just a suggestion but how about changing the op to add more stuff people should try to mention? The biggest thing is people always say. "I saw this "old movie" "when I was a kid" or "10 years ago" when none of those things narrow down when the when movie came out very well. The op says "how long ago you saw it" when it should say "What year you think it was released".

Also B&W/color is another one people don't mention that could help.

I barely remember that, but I think it's one of those 80's movies where they'd show it on HBO over and over and you'd watch it every time even though it's stupid.

There's a snippet of a movie that popped into my head a while back and I can't think of what it is and it's been irking me for a while. Basically in my mind it's an action movie probably from the 90s and in the middle of a chase the main actor is doing something to get away and a bystander says "That's illegal. What he's doing is illegal." Then the lead actor throws a trash can through a window or something like that. Any ideas?

edit: well I'm dumb, I just googled that line and it's Weekend at Bernies

Looking for a 1980s movie which was an action/comedy inspired by James Bond / other spy movies. I am thinking the distributor was Disney but not sure about it. If I remember the plot correctly, the protagonist is a cartoon artist who gets mixed up with a 3 letter agency and ends up driving a typical gadget spy car. It's definitely not "Spies like us" but something along those lines.

Hence incredibly common in movies, tv shows, novels, comic books etc. It's like it was taken from a how to guide on how to make a screenplay. I don't think people know how common certain tropes they have seen are and think that only one movie had this particular scene since it was so riviting to them.

Then name these movies where a man says goodbye to a woman and smells her hair? It's not common at all. You also said in the GBS thread that a goat defecating on a silk pillow happened in a lot of movies. You are just trying to sound like an expert when you don't know the answer and it just makes you look like a tool.

I don't want him banned, but the dude said it's happened in hundreds of movies but he refuses to name even one of them. He had his chance to either back down or prove he's right by listing all the movies that supposedly happened in, instead he just goes on repeating the same argument. So this is just put up or shut up. I'm sure if he comes close he won't get banned (or maybe he will, who cares)

I'm looking for a sci-fi movie that I think would have been made in the 80's or early 90's.
The whole movie is inside a small ship that was jettisoned from a larger frigate for some reason at the beginning. There are maybe 5-10 people in the ship, and they somehow find out that one of them is a murderer, and he starts to pick them off one by one.

At the end of the movie, someone shines a light into a "blind" guys eyes and he winces, and thats how they uncover who the murderer is.

The only scene that sticks out in my mind was where some guy is getting chased by indians on horseback, he dismounts his horse, lays it down on the ground and uses it as cover from where he takes aim and shoots his pursuers.

Robert Duvall does this in Lonesome Dove, which isn't B&W, but it's probably better than whatever you were watching if it's not actually it.
