This is a general anime thing I'm not sure where to post- what the hell is the deal with the recent 10bit fansubs? Why do they do them? It seems like it causes a lot more issues than it fixes.

If you get a high quality fansub on a good monitor, 10 bit makes a pretty substantial difference color wise on more visually appealing anime. It sucks that it's not well supported and you have to downgrade VLC if you use it to play movies. I wouldn't be surprised if 4K becomes the next big thing forced into new fansubs in a couple years.

 4k is a pipe dream. There's no codec that makes it remotely sane to distribute and it's going to be impossible to broadcast for at least the near future. It doesn't even make sense on the production side because we don't have storage devices that can handle raw 4k streams in real time. Maybe in 20 years, definitely not 2.

 There are some pages I want to make, but I'm really terrible at writing series synopses. Would anyone really mind if I just skip that, and write my opinion of the show?

There are a bunch of semi-complete pages and no one's ever minded too much. Opinions and recommendations are really the meat of the wiki, so if you wanna share those, I'd say just go ahead.

It's fine, but I'd link them in here and or the recommendation thread then to ask someone else to do it then.

Keep in mind that you don't need to write a series synopsis perse, you just need to summarize the rough idea of the series more than anything. It's less a overall summary and more a general selling point.
