This was fun and a very good ending. also excellent character defining moment for Elan for reasons other have pointed out. The thing I notice most in the posts above me is that people assume that Tarquin is gone for good now? I don't really believe that, I actually expect hm to take the place of the linear guild. Wouldn't relentlessly chasing Elan and trying to stop him from fulfilling his mission so Elan can focus on giving Tarquin a proper ending be more fitting for him? It's also something of a reversal since he used to be in full control(or at least thought he was), but if he spends his time chasing Elan to control his destiny he becomes the follower instead. Xykon could kill him offhandedly really giving him an insignificant death.

Next chapter is just going to be Roy talking to Durkula how he realised the trick the vampire was playing....and it will still be worth it thanks to this strip. But won't the vampire still just turn to mist once he really starts losing?

After reading this thread it seems like it's a comic to address fans, however that was not my first thought. The comic really doesn't feel out of place to me. It's Elan being Elan, Belkar being Belkar and the leader bringing everyone, including the reader, up to speed.

It's interesting as it highlights how just adding someone with a better feeling for color only causes things to clash even more. It never looked good, but at least his own hard colors fit with his melty style.
