I heard this song on the radio the other day, it's a recent song and it was on a top 8 countdown. All I remember is that there was this whistle sound with some reverb and a female vocalist. The whistle sounded kinda like some wild-west type tune.

Its the only popular song with whistling in it as far as I know. The vocalist may be mistaken for a woman?

Scots / Irishmen, this one is for you!

During my holiday in Edinburgh two weeks ago, I frequently heard a certain song, and I was wondering if one of you knows the group and name of the song.

- Instrumental
- Folk Rock-ish
- Instrumentation: Bass, drums, guitar, possibly keys, and bagpipes or a similar sounding instrument
- Mid-tempo rock sound with a lot of triplets and a very droning bass sound
- Repetitive, same chord pattern throughout the song, no solos that I know of
- Lead melody played by the bagpipes
- Melody sounds something like this (quick sketch, I made some errors, but you get the idea)

Good luck

i'm so glad i found this thread.

there's this one song, i've heard ONCE in my entire life when i was little. i was sitting in my aunt's car, and we got the middle of it, but she turned it off because we were home. and i haven't been able to figure out what song it is. GIS, allmusic, nothing.

it's kind of a slow hair metal ballad type song, think scorpions - wind of change.

all i caught was this:

"(something) (something) sanctuaaaaaaaaaryyyyy...
(something) into the the niiiiiight...
we will shelter you, and -
*off*"

if anyone can find this song for me you have no idea how grateful i'll be.

and it's not "she sells sanctuary" by the cult.

Annette Ducharme (Anet) - Sanctuary

I can't even find a page with a sample of it anywhere. I doubt this song had any airplay outside of Canada.

A few minutes ago a song I'd heard before came into my head. At first I thought it was the Mission Impossible theme, but it turns out I forgot what the MI theme was like. The song is a bit secret-agent-y, but I can only recall the first part of it.

It starts with a bass playing the main beat, followed by a trumpet hit which brings in the percussion and guitar. The main beat is three notes followed by a two-note crescendo that repeats three times. I think it's from a movie, but I've only ever heard it reused in other shows.

Hey guys I have a mashup that I got from my sister and I want to know what songs are in it. I have the mp3 and everything but posting it somewhere is surely some kind of copyright enwrongment. I know one of them is Rihanna's Umbrella. The first vocals are a guy going "ahh, aahh, AAHH, AHH!" twice. At the end the line "Where is the tenderness" is repeated." It has awesome jangly guitars, what sounds like bells, and some kind of horn.

There is another mashup I want to know the songs from. It has a really cool guitar riff going through it. "You're so cool" is repeatedly sung by a female voice and "When we're britten and wurchen, when we're britten and buh dehh-eh-eh, They cant hear us what were sin, when we're britten and buh deh-eh-eh-eh (Transcribed phonetically)" by a male voice.

If you know an acceptable way to post the mp3 or segments of it somewhere I can do that.

The Rihanna one is done by Party Ben. The other artist in the mashup is General Public.

edit: Other song is General Public - Tenderness
