I am NOT a red Bumblebee for god's sake!

Looks like the movie toys are moving at a pretty nice rate over here, but I'm also already identifying shelfwarmers. I checked the store I went to last week again, they had a lot of Deluxe Barricade and Voyager Starscream sitting on the shelves. Other figures were gone completely though(Wreckage, Brawl, most of BB and Jazz who had one of each left) The Starscream:Ironhide ratio was 7:1.

Also spotted a lonely movie Legends Megatron, while they also had Prime last week.

They don't have to look EXACTLY like the animation (no tf series has), and you can even tell from the pic how most of them transform. (Like Prowl's foot-wheels, etc.)

Not exactly. You can see how their robot modes have vehicle kibble, but it doesn't mean they look like they can actually contort into the cars. Bulkhead or whatever, for instance... his torso is the front of his vehicle. His shoulders have the stars that are somewhere on the back area. But... the arms are tubes and can't possibly fill the space without being molded like putty. The wheels in Bumblebee's feet? The ones on Ratchet's ankles? Sure, you can tell they're supposed to be the same as the cars, but if you're working for more than 10 minutes on this character sheet you'd realize that most of these designs aren't anywhere near logically transformable. It's like the designs were conceptualized separately and never reconciled.

Prowl's bike mode is still GIGANTIC.

In G1, humans love them some Autobots. In the movie, there's a bit more of a realistic approach.

I prefer the alternate reality in Heavy Metal War where we have Decepticon day and little kids dress up like Megatron while waving American flags.

I think it really depends on the store and where its located. The Walmart here in Renton has Brawl, Jazz, Bonecrusher, Ironhide and Ratchet as shelfwarmers; while the Target I sent to yesterday only had Brawl, Blackout and Ironhide left. The Fred Meyers I went to had Swindle, Starscream, Bonecrusher and Brawl left. Either way it seems Brawl is getting the short end of the stick here. Hopefully a Voyager Brawl will help out the little guy.

After all the good reviews I went and picked up Robo-vision Prime from Target. drat he's fun. The part where you fold the legs over to complete the cab was a bit annoy as it kept popping back out but I eventually got it in. Everything is pretty snug in alt mode. I'm not too hot about the shoulder flaps. One of mine is loose and it flops down at times while he's in alt mode. But the fact that I can full transform him without having to remove anything, even his guns is pure .

Seriously, I'm tempted to show up and say "I'm a Transformers fan. What will it take to get a free ticket for the movie?" and then see how much of my (meager) dignity I'm willing to sacrifice.

Obviously, the solution is that you need to play more.

Also, more Deceptigoons would be awesome as well. If we lose this piece we'll have to wait a week before we can try and take it again.

Those are pretty damned awful, personally I was hoping for the generic BK small bodied figures like they did for Spiderman 3 and Star Wars.

Looking through them I do have to take issue with some of the figures questionable action commands.

Primarily Blackout's which would probably result in a lot of personal injury.
And Ironhide's since I'm fairly certain he's not supposed to fly.

Well for anyone looking forward to Hasbo's G1 accurate MP Starscream, its probably going to be a Walmart exclusive figure.

I was checking out the TFW2005 boards and came across this thread. One of the guys said that postings on a Chinese TF thread mentioned it being an exclusive due out in November of this year.

Still, I want to see how much it'll cost. If its less than fifty bucks it'll be mine, if not then gently caress it.

Also one last thing, the pictures look much better than the last ones we've seen.

Leader Brawl. Don't underestimate him(He better get some good shoulders though)

Anyway, it's pretty consistent with what I've seen at another store so far, where it's also Barricade and Starscream warming up shelves(And no Ratchet or Blackout in sight)

In other news: I spotted a few DVDs with G1 episodes on 'em today, mainly season 1 stuff. However, the art used on the box was from Armada. Making sure you have the right line is apparently difficult.

There were also BW Season 1 DVDs out, which are pretty much aimed at the movie crowd(Using the same 'Transformers' logo, using the tagline "Their world. A new war." which is stylistically similar to the movie one)

The Wal-Mart in Flagstaff, AZ has nothing but Blackout and Ratchet. I had to go to Target to get the other voyager-class toys.

Ratchet is still my favorite of the movie toys. I'm warming to Blackout and Ironhide (even though Blackout is still scaled poorly, and Ironhide's transformation is still difficult for me to do right when putting him back in truck-mode), and I'm liking Starscream less and less. He looks okay as a robot, but he's got no hands, which is kinda lovely. And his missile-launcher arms, while a cool play feature, just look goofy and way too bulky when he's in jet-mode (and his main fuselage is way too thick, because of his legs). His head is poorly hidden in jet-mode, and he's got no afterburners whatsoever, which is kinda lovely.
Classics Starscream is still my favorite Starscream toy, from any lineup (then again, I only own 3 Starscream toys; Classics, movie lineup, and the little Robot Heroes PVC).

Speaking of which... Nefud, do you still want me to mail Mirage to you?

Edit-- that G1 repaint Masterpiece Starscream looks incredible. Any idea when it's getting released, and how much it'll cost?

The Decepticon version is great. In the Autobot version, you get nothing for killing civilians and such, but that's the point in the Decepticon version. Destruction and mayhem are your friend. No matter what version you get, though, it's a great game and really fun to play. The wireless connecting to take part in the war online is pretty cool because it's basically a challenge a day that you can do to help contribute points to your side, and in return you get tokens, which go towards unlocking additional content in the game.

Which is another reason to get the Decepticon version, because we're winning right now we're getting more tokens.

I've been playing the 360 game for a bit now and I have to say that I don't really understand all the hate. It's pretty much exactly what I was expecting. I don't know if everyone just had too high of expectations or what but the game seems fine to me.

Granted there are certainly a few criticisms that are spot on. Like how useless the guns are most of the time and ground vehicle handling does leave some to be desired. Considering though the track record movie games have I'd say this one is quite a bit better than most.

Whether or not it's worth 60 bucks or not probably depends on the person and how much they wanna play as their favorite transformers. If you aren't prepared to spend that much money I think I can recommend renting it at least. Depending on how particular about the games you play you may have a blast and if you find it merely mediocre then you've lost little.

TF for 360 is good. Not as bad as some make it out to be though. Combat is very busy. There is constantly crap going on. Something is nearly always being destroyed. Graphics are very good (especially the robots). There are lots of timed missions so far though. Driving is weird too. It's like sliding on ice most of the time. Flying with Descepticon's vehicle mode controls much better. I'm still in the beginning of the game though. (some achievements are eassyy to get though)
