Another upside to the BBTS pre-order on Rodimus is that you can cancel the pre-order anytime until it ships, as they won't charge you till it arrives. So if anyone misses him at HTS that weekend, or think they will, you can put in the pre-order just in case and not worry about getting charged until they arrive.

$500 is less than retail, so yeah, it was more than that.

Got myself an '08 Bumblebee today. Vastly superior to the '74 version. The hood/shoulders automorph is a little awkward the first time, but once you see how it works, it's pretty cool. Fantastic robot mode. Really captures the movie character's look and proportions. Transformation back to car mode is quite quick, as well. Everything folds up nice and easily. Highly recommended.

The Botcon 5 (yes, I paid a ridiculous amount for these)

The magnificent six (these together make my nerd heart skip a beat)

Rumble in the Bumble'hood :O

Make sure you've always got someone watching your back, yo...

I dunno if they've actually ever met, but it looks like it would be a cool throwdown...

Now for some other randomness....

Well, I thought it looked cool, anyway :p

Hey, this picture taking thing is fun! There's a crapload more from that album, and I think I'll take some more with the rest of my collection..

Seconding this. I'd buy about $40 worth of Transformers off their website right this second if they'd just list them for sale. The ones I want are listed in the product listing on transformers.com, but not on HasbroToyShop.com

This has re-affirmed my decision to not bother with '74 BB. It's too bad that instead of Ultimate BB they didn't just make a more expensive version of this guy (drop-down battle mask, diecast, rubber tires, larger scale, all that jazz). But noooo, instead we get an $80 toy that plays Devo.

More Masudaya Numformer poo poo comin' at ya! I mentioned that some of the transformations were kinda nifty, so I decided to do a little pictorial on how each one is transformed. Also because these guys are so drat cute and they need to be photographed. Pics are linked so they don't slow down anyone who doesn't like colorful number robots.

0
1. There he is, my little guy. Isn't he cute.
2. Head flips up to reveal great staring eyes. o_o
3. Bottom flips down to reveal great standing feet. |_|-|_|
4. Arms flip up a little too high. Hm.
5. Torso pulls up to reveal a smiley face. =)
---
1
1. 1 is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.
2. The legs open automatically when you pull on them.
3. Then the legs spin when you twist on them.
4. His head was on backwards all along!
5. Flipping his arms down is completely pointless. What's he gonna do? Run into you to death?
---
2
1. He got his head checked by a jumbo jet. It wasn't easy, but nothing is.
2. Flipped over and legs flipped down... Is that a separated torso I see? Yes, that's right! Through the magic of weird design, Masudaya 2 is the first(?) robot toy with automorph. Flipping down his legs pushes up his torso. Yay!
3. Turn the head. This is not automorph.
4. And arms. His fists aren't symetrical.
---
3
1. Welcome to the dregs of my mind.
2. Oh dear, he seems to have fallen over.
3. He's got legs!
4. But no hands.
5. Er... I... Oh.
---
4
1. He can't even stay upright.
2. 'Sup, Robogoons.
3. Abstract art.
4. He lost his other foot to a Sharkticon back in '88. 4's been around.
5. The only Numformer that can put his hands on his hips. (They pull down.)
6. And that's enough headstanding.
---
5
1. Not very fab.
2. I am out of lame arm jokes.
3. I am stupidly amused by his whole center panel flipping over like that.
4. A lot of them really don't have legs so much as they do half a waffle iron screwed into stumps.
5. Abooooout FACE!
6. 5 is certainly the dopiest looking of the Numformers.
---
6
1. Between him and turning 9 upside down... I still don't have the number of the beast.
2. His feet are sorta weird. They have little toe-like bits on the bottom of the purple part, but he doesn't seem to balance on them very well. I can only assume this is what Masudaya intended.
3. Arms!
4. You can kinda see the little slidey thing that brings his hands out of his arms. Am I the only one who sorta likes those?
5. Head vents!
---
7
1. I do like how Masudaya decided to fill the numbers in instead of molding them into just a number. It certainly kept away any difficulty involved in their design.
2. A pull-up head this time. He has sort of Johnny-5 eyes. He needs eyebrows.
3. And again with the single foot.
4. Technically, you could end him here. But that's no fun.
5. Instead, you must make his front foot small and his back foot wide. Not exactly sure what the advantage to that in battle is. Maybe it's so he isn't a shovel.
---
8
1. I should have used a different backdrop for 8. He clashes horribly with the quilt blocks.
2. I don't know why flipping his legs down causes his arms to start separating. It really doesn't make much sense.
3. I'm a fan of the "pull the arms apart to reveal the face" thing. It's cute.
4. And then we flip his hips. He has the most basic transformation out of everyone.
---
9
1. And that brings us to 9. I think I'll name him... 9.
2. 9's legs are weird. First they twist up...
3. ...so you can pull up his hands...
4. ...then they flip up, not to be confused with twisting up...
5. ...then they twist back down. This was so weird, it caused the camera to start tilting.
6. And then his head comes out and he is Gay Pride Numformer.
---
So that concludes it. Sorry about the length. To make up for it, here's a size comparison picture between 9 and Robot Heroes Megatron:

Double mistransform on the '74 'Bee. Besides the already mentioned windows and windshield being able to flip up, you transformed his legs and feet incorrectly. Just pull down on the ankle joint and it should be quite clear. His feet don't simply fold down, but transforming them that way(See also: instructions) results in the rear panels being lowered for better-defined and longer legs, along with smaller feet(still clownshoes)

I saw that happen last week. Some twenty-something-year-old guy and girl wandered into the toy aisle in Target when I was there, and the girl was whining that there was no Bumblebee. I guess they'd just seen the movie, and she was saying "Aww... I want Bumblebee. Where's Bumblebee? Bumblebee was cool."
They almost settled on the Cyber-Stompin' Bumblebee, but the boyfriend talked her out of it.

Yeah we don't know what hasbro is thinking either. It was a great movie, but they've hamstrung the most popular characters. No leader class prime (blame target) and who knows what the bright idea was behind having the 08 bumblebee come out a couple weeks after the movie instead of parallel. I think we (I did, at least) also underestimated the amazing ability of the scalpers to buy a WHOLE STORE's toy stock.

Let me start off with the good points: it gives you money, most, if not all, of the jobs are above minimum wage (unless you live in Ohio or wherever it is that has the insanely high minimum wage compared to the rest of the country), the 10% discount is off of everything (even $1200 tvs and clearance items).
Bad things: it's retail and retail will always suck no matter what.

Beyond that, everything is up to what your job is (if you're in the backroom, you'd have a pretty sucky job, but it would also be a good way to get in shape / gain endurance) and who you work for. My supervisor is a pretty cool guy and shouldn't be there (he was an investment banker, his wife left him for his boss, ending his marriage, reducing his finances to nothing, and leaving him without a job to boot).

Goddamnit there are times when I hate Flagstaff.

So, both Target and Wal-Mart restocked their Deluxe-class movie Transformers today. What did they put out?

Target put out a couple Barricades, one '74 Bumblebee, and a few Brawls.
Wal-Mart put out Scorponok, Prototype Starscream, and Prototype Optimus. You know, the big-ticket items that are sure to fly off the shelves because everyone wants one.
Jesus christ.

Hasbro should hurry the gently caress up with updating their online shop. Depending on how much free time I've got later after I get the house all cleaned up, I might actually Email their customer support and ask what's going on, and when we can expect to see the new wave of figures listed in the store.
