^ Pretty sure the best bet for ordering those will be through Robot Kingdom. So apparently on TFW2005, someone found Dark of the Moon Deluxes being sold for $30, leading some people to think to themselves, "Ha ha, oh Target. Your particular branch sure did screw up big time." Apparently this error (At least I reaaaaally hope this is an error) is bigger than just one branch. (Target product listing linked) It's okay though, if you buy two of them (and only on certain ones), you are eligible for free shipping. secretcode fucked around with this message at May 24, 2012 around 17:13 |

Zellers has been selling Prime deluxes for 25 bucks for MONTHS. The pricing schemes have been getting a little wonky.

When my local Target moved DOTM deluxes to $17 each I laughed. $30 is loving crazy.

I also have to question what TRU is thinking sometimes, as they have tons of ROTF figures that are still there, and cost $3-5 more than deluxes at other stores. It's almost like they're trying to copy K-Mart's business model. Speaking about that, how is it possible that K-Mart is still in business? I still shop primarily at Target though, because my little lovely redneck Wal-Mart barely even has a toy department. It's like one isle and still has wave 1 DOTM figures.

1. Only have stores in high crime areas. 2. Mark up the prices real high. 3. Watch it walk out the door. 4. Insurance. 5. Profit.

Exclusive Artfire that comes with the new TF Generations book, much like the exclusive Stepper they did a while back. He's cool, but not $150 cool. That Stepper looks insanely nice, but goddamn he's $120 so gently caress no. I'm just really hoping that TFC will do a Stepper\Riccochet for their subscription thing. Yes, amazingly there is someone out there who really wants another Stepper after the reissue and the Alternator clogged shelves and bombed horribly. Hasbro is never gonna want to ever do another Stepper again. If only they would do that for Bumblebee...

Every walmart by me was selling the same exact figures for $6.79. The nearest one just got the new movie (Retaliation) figures in, and now any pre-Retaliation figures are marked down to $5(which is pretty much just Renegades Firefly, CC, and Scarlett), and the Retaliation figures are marked up to $8.99. Prime deluxes by me are 12 at walmart, 13 at target, and a whopping 15 at TRU. This seriously sucks. Edit: I mean, I get that prices are going up and poo poo, but a 3 dollar discrepancy between two retail chains is just very... odd to me. There was this awesome thread about old poo poo people found in K-Mart a few months back. It's not unlikely that you'll find merchandise from the 80's sitting around. A local K-Mart had an old Final Fight cabinet sitting around in their abandoned arcade, but later it finally disappeared. I really regret not offering them like $100 to buy it.

That business model makes perfect sense for the Penn Station Kmart, given the amount of stolen merch I could find just wandering around the place for ten minutes waiting for my train to arrive. Unfortunately pretty much all the Kmarts by me totally re-designed themselves a few years ago to be more Target-y so there's no possibility of finding crazy crap from years long gone on the shelves anymore. I remember when KB Toys was going out of business a few years back and the one by me was closing down I walked in and they suddenly had a bunch of old Super Nintendo and NES games sitting in their video game cabinets. Got WWF Royal Rumble for 99 cents.

Those are the newer K-Marts. The two nearest K-Marts to me still look like a DMZ. Old VHS tapes, half open merchandise just sitting there on the floor, shelves that go bare for months, crackheads outside the store... as I always say, walking into K-Mart is like walking into a war-torn third world country. Of course, I live in North Carolina and the southern USA practically IS a third world country, although NC is probably the nicest southern state to live in and has some pretty decent metropolitan areas with sane people in the center of the state. I can only imagine what a K-Mart looks like in Alabama or Mississippi.

Although I've had a few ex-K-Mart employees tell me that they basically have no inventory system whatsoever, which explains how their stores can have Top Gun VHS tapes from 1987 at full price, and completely miss out on product out in other stores, and never receive things like Grand Theft Auto 3 or Halo during the height of their popularity.
