Transformers Toy Thread: loving twisty ties!

Well, I didn't get to go to the press screening on Friday. Something else came up. Grr. So I treated myself today to a trip to Toys R Us. Bought Voyager Starscream, Classics Starscream (in the US, it's Cliffjumper and Mirage that just hang around. Here in the UK, apparently it's Bumblebee and Starscream. Anyone want either, let me know, bearing in mind that they work out at $20 each even before shipping..

) And 2 of the Robot Heroes packs: OP/Ravage, Hot Rod/Shrapnel.

I stopped at a big Tesco (kinda like a Walmart) to get some money and just popped in to see if they had a toy aisle. They did. And 7 Titanium Soundwaves, reduced to a tenner (again, $20). So one of those came home with me too.

Anyone in the UK... have you seen any Deluxes other than the Protoforms? Toys R Us had loads of the preview figures, but none of the normal deluxes.

Toys R Us has the Leader Prime. It sits there, taunting me. And I know in 6 weeks I'll be back in the US and able to buy it sooo much cheaper. Of course this is the same logic that has failed so far because now I own Voyager Ratchet, Ironhide and Starscream.

When are the proper movie Deluxes hitting the UK? loving protoforms! Also, I want the Lazerbeak Real Gear... I picked up the camera (which has the best light pipe eyes. Seriously, the tiniest bit of light, and he's all bright red like LEDs creepy eyes) and the phone. The camera's really cool, but I'm not entirely sure why I bought the phone.

I guess because it was half price and none of the other Real Gears looked any good.

OK, getting a LilFormers avatar any time soon.

He does, but you have to put a light right next to it to have any discernible effect. And even then, it's dim at best.

Awhile ago I saw that there was a huge, super posable, maybe anniversary edition, Optimus Prime that came with a bunch of accessories ( one of them might have been the matrix thing?). What was this called and is it still available in stores?
I had heard that there was a pretty cool Megatron that transformed into more of a Nerf-like gun and was green and black (I think), what was this called and where could I get one?

The Prime would be the one linked to about 2/3 posts up that way ^^^^

The Megatron was the Voyager Megatron from the 'Classics' line. You might get very lucky and find one still on shelves at Walmart or Target like I did. But Ebay would be a more likely bet.

2 local TRUs, 3 cities (London, Brighton, Bath), every Woolies I know of... protoforms! Or just Legends.

Actually, I rarely go to the TRU. My most frequent run is the Walmart on College (I go to LSU, so it's right by me) and then the Walmart at Siegen. Usually at 2am or something. I'm at home in the UK right now, so I won't be getting to look for movie toys until mid-August. I'm waiting till then to pick up a Leader Prime. It's too expensive over here. The equivalent of $80.

O'Neal? College isn't so bad, I picked up Classics Rodimus there, but I know what you mean. Other people on here were talking about picking up the movie toys while I was still stateside, and I kept checking both of my stores and nothing.

I found Voyager Classics Prime and Megatron at the Walker Walmart at 4 in the morning on the way back from NOLA one time. I had dropped off a friend at his home (thus the long way round return) and stopped at the Walmart to get an energy drink to stay awake. And of course, Walmart means I have to stop at the toy aisle. I walked out having spent $42 I hadn't meant to. Worth every penny though.

I actually saw Deluxe Bumblebee at Forbidden Planet yesterday. But it was nearly 15 quid. And damned if I'm paying what's almost $30 for a $10 toy. :/

I saw no Deluxes at my huge local 24hr Tesco. They had a bunch of Ratchets, a couple of Blackouts, some Alternators (Shockwave and Silverstreak - I'm tempted on the Shockwave cos.. RX-8

), a whole bunch of Legends including OP and Megs, and some of those weird things that turn from cellphones into weapons.

But no deluxes.

I'm sure it said Shockwave on the box, though... And it's the clear plastic clamshell box not this red cardboard box thing I see on all the auctions. Hmm.

So I went to TRU, and came home with Bumblebee, Barricade and Jazz!

I just spent $60 on 3 TFs...

I like them... except Bumblebee is too skinny, Barricade's hand does that springloaded thing, and I can't get Jazz's head to not sink back into his chest. But other than that, they're fine. Cos I know they won't still be around in Baton Rouge when I get back.

It used to be the largest in America, now it's lost its edge due to ebay (Why go stand out in the cold at 7am when you can just sell from your armchair?

The fire engine is part of the 'Rescue Patrol' team and called Red Hot. The green one is called Flak and is from the 'Battle Patrol'.

Nope. But I picked up Barricade, Bumblebee and Jazz at TRU. There was only 1 of each out on the huge Transformers display. Asda has them now too. Lots of Brawl, weirdly, but I'm not interested in him.
