Hi, I thought I should introduce myself after lurking for a couple of months. I had avoided buying new toys since Energon (with the exception of Primus) till I started reading this thread, and now no longer feel quite so bad about blowing so much money on toys. I’m thinking I’m going to get the Jhiaxus avatar as soon as I find a good quote from my G2 comics, though suggestions are welcome. Oh, and I’ll be online with the DS games as “Blaargh”. As for my latest sightings and purchases, there are a couple of noteworthy bits. First, has anyone else seen the three-pack of movie deluxes at Sam's Club? It’s $24.77 US, and has Jazz taking on two Decepticons (which ones escapes me at the moment though). I haven't grabbed it yet, but they still had plenty of them as of Thursday. My other sighting was at the local TRU where they still had 8 reissue Soundwaves. They even had 6 or 7 Primus figures left as well. I grabbed a Soundwave and a got me a free Spy Shot 6.

Yeah, G2 is a great comic. Reading the entire run of it when they first came out is good memory from when I was a rather young geek. I'm also glad I've still got them all.Xenomrph posted:I'm pretty sure Jazz comes with Bonecrusher and Brawl in the 3-pack. I thought it was them, but I wasn't quite sure. I figured I'd mention it since I didn't think it had shown up in the thread yet. SpazmasterX posted:"Who the gently caress is Jhiaxus??" I think this might be the winner, though the other was good as well. Oh hell, I might just combine them. I'll probably buy it sometime tomorrow.

The avatar has been purchased, and thanks for the help with the text.Smoke posted:Anyone able to find me a Soundwave yet? eBay's filled with them for twice retail at the very least. If it's the reissue you want I wouldn't mind grabbing one for you from my TRU (if that stack of them is still there Monday or Tuesday). The shipping from the U.S. could get a little prohibitive, but if you're interested I don't mind sending at cost + shipping. Just look me up on AIM. Everybody needs a Soundwave! DarkPrime posted:This is what I do. I have a plastic tote dedicated to keeping my boxes and instructions. I collapse the boxes flat. I don't keep the boxes for carded figures, but I do cut out the tech specs/character bio off of them. I keep trying to do that, but I ran out of room so everything gets cut down to bio and tech specs (plus any nifty box art). Only Unicron's packaging survives whole because it's big enough to store things in and it fit in the shed at the time. The first thing I do when I get a new one is to extract it from its cardboard, plastic, and wire sarcophagus, and transform it back and forth for a while. Then they meet their friends and get played with or posed on the shelf. I thought about keeping reissue Soundwave in his backwards packaged glory, but I’d wanted him for as long as I can remember. So now he stands atop my TV much of the time, silently fulfilling a small childhood dream.

That metal dude posted:Hah well I bought the only 2 RI soundwaves I had ever seen and one sits in its backwards tomb while the other is in full display with ravage and lazerbeak. I think if I sell any for money it'll be poor Soundwave. Speaking of which, I need to go see if my TRU still has any of that stack of Soundwaves left. I had the same idea, but no money for an extra one at the time. They're probably gone by now but its worth a look. Though in case I get out shopping tomorrow and I am extra lucky, is there anyone still in need of a Soundwave? I finally found a Classics Megatron! I'd been kicking myself for not getting him earlier, but there he was hidden amongst about twenty Classics Primes at the local Wal-Mart. There was one Jetfire there too, but I already got him and Prime for $8 a piece at Target a month before the movie came out. I think I might have to make this Megs my first repaint, though.

That metal dude posted:I really want to paint Megs but part of me doesnt. He really isnt that bad in my eyes. He's so damned evil looking regardless of his energon-esque colors. I'm torn between trying for a G1 look or just enhancing the scheme he has now. There are just too many details in the mold that deserve to be seen.

The Goon posted:Leader class Animated Megatron. I have to say, this is the first time i've felt even the slightest desire to buy an Animated toy. I'll have to see some more pics, but he looks much better than I was expecting: Holy crap. I had a feeling I was blowing all my money on the new classics and animated toys, by that just sealed it.

Dang, every store around here keeps getting in all the generations stuff. My wallet is starting to get sad after finding Kup, Scourge, Warpath, Darkmount(Straxus), and even that movie samurai Bludgeon dusty and hiding in the local TRU. Might go grab some of the rest depending on my budget. If anybody needs anything I can take a look for stuff too. Edit: Hi, I still exist!

catch22 posted:Scourge is seriously one of the best "Classics" figures. Yes, this. He is my favourite transformer of the current stuff bar none. Both modes look great out of the package, plenty of detail, and a solid transformation. Kup most def kicks butt too though.

MinionOfCthulhu posted:You have the Grail Jazz. I guess that one I found at Walgreen's around the corner last month was also a holy and blessed item. The other oddity around here these days is the ridiculous amount of Junkheaps I see everywhere. Of which I've only grabbed two for ridiculous action posing with my Wreck-Gar. And, Doctor, we had a store almost exactly like that called Service Merchandise here in the states till the mid '90's or so, except instead of catalogues they had a big fancy pants show room. Heck, it's where some of my G1 stuff came from back in the day. Though it did end up with a normal retail section for some things near the end of it's life span.
