A warning to people using the online stock locator function on target.com:
All scouts / deluxes / leaders / etc. have the same DCPI number as every other one of their size class. So, if you look for Elita One on there, for example, it will show up as being available if they have just one of any scout size figure. Not sure about elsewhere, but I know that as of yesterday, my Target had not received anything wave 2 yet.

Last I heard, they were dividing them up so that you could get them on any day, but it would be first come, first served on the morning of each day. In other words, you'd have to show up early in the morning.

Anyone happen to remember any info about that psychological study of nerds? They basically found that they were the meanest bunch of dipshits in the world, who would tear each other apart at the drop of a hat, because they grew up thinking that was the way the world worked.

I always thought that sounded like total BS, but the longer I'm on the internet, the more likely it seems.

Edit: this thread, despite us being huge "robofags" is way better than actual transformers forums. Those are scary and I only manage to look at kitbash stuff for creative stuff, but most of that has turned into "OMG G1 repaint! *SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGE!*" and "Nemesis Prime number 13,742" lately.

DarkPrime posted:

Are you gonna give us a heads up?

DOH! I'm way too tired right now.

I may need pictures to have this make sense, I don't know. Next time you're in target, look at the end of an aisle. Like the backside of the endcap, in the aisle itself. There will be little barcodes posted up there. These are location codes. When something is going to be clearanced on that aisle, the tag will be red instead of yellow. Soon after (not sure how long) something will be going clearance on that aisle. Note: not everything on that aisle will necessarily go on clearance.

For example, my Target has spiderman and transformers stuff both on the same aisle. At some point, I'm sure they're going to clearance out the Spiderman stuff; probably before they do anything clearance with transformers. The red tag will go up, then they'll eventually clearance out the spiderman stuff and something will take its place.

And now for something completely different. I'm going to repaint my megatron due to the horrible paint that he comes with and have realized that it wouldn't be that hard to make the wings/nose of the jetmode into their own separate entity that can combine with him. The part that hangs down between his legs happens to rotate up, which would give him a pretty decent looking back, too. The question is, should I commit multiple infractions of transformery sacrilege and make the jet drone into Laserbeak? He'd still combine to make a "supermode" with megs.

Also, I figured out a pretty decent galvatron-esque artillery platform alt mode with him de-winged. It's atleast as good as the "cybertronian jet mode."

Edit: not so pretty pictures.

Why yes... his head does indeed attach to his rear end in that mode.

The movie made approx. $38m in the US on monday night & tuesday. It's likely to be turning a profit from domestic sales only by the end of the weekend. I just hope they don't pull a "let's make the sequels at the same time" cost saving measure. I can't think of anything where they did that that was original that didn't suffer because of it.

Spiderman, The Da Vinci Code, and 300 are the only non-sequels to beat it, and monday night is not included (and probably canabalized opening day a bit) because it's considered like a sneak preview and doesn't count.

I hadn't really noticed 'til it was mentioned here, but I don't know why they'd bother with that, though. They showed him taken out by Bumblebee early on, then specifically brought him back for the city fight where you saw him check in, but you never saw him after he said he was on his way. Why not just cut him out completely at that point?

Like I said earlier, my Target seems to be the number one collector/scalper spot in my town. I have NEVER seen that aisle fully stocked, just a random layout of Wreckages and tie-in products (that Optimus head kiddie PC, the "Combiner Tool Set", etc).

It can vary from store to store and how good a job certain employees do / how many days a week they're allowed to do their job and not someone else's. It can also have to do with Spiderman being a dick to Optimus Prime. At mine, I've checked what's come off of every truck for transformers product since I started there back at the start of June. Our transformers section is pretty much the same as yours, and since the entire aisle is marked MPG, we won't be receiving stock to replenish the nearly empty shelves. This reminds me: I need to see what's going to happen to the endcap display with it's pulsing eyes autobot face. I'd like to take it home.

Hey, SpikeMcclane, do you like working at Target? I'm currently in between jobs and the job I was almost guaranteed to be hired at fell through and I need something soon. One of the reasons why I haven't bought any movie toys. My local Target is fairly close to my house and I could always use the employee discount.

Let me start off with the good points: it gives you money, most, if not all, of the jobs are above minimum wage (unless you live in Ohio or wherever it is that has the insanely high minimum wage compared to the rest of the country), the 10% discount is off of everything (even $1200 tvs and clearance items).
Bad things: it's retail and retail will always suck no matter what.

Beyond that, everything is up to what your job is (if you're in the backroom, you'd have a pretty sucky job, but it would also be a good way to get in shape / gain endurance) and who you work for. My supervisor is a pretty cool guy and shouldn't be there (he was an investment banker, his wife left him for his boss, ending his marriage, reducing his finances to nothing, and leaving him without a job to boot).

I meant to say earlier, my Target finally got wave 2!
A single box of deluxes.
That said, I bought every single concept bumblebee they had. All 2 of them. Also, my target had only received one variety of cases before this, so they also go the first swindle to show up in the store. I felt really bad about getting the 2 bumblebees, afraid I was depriving a little kid of a cool toy. At 8 when the store opened, so huge 400 lb. dude headed for the transformers, saw nothing new (they opened up the new case, but only used half of the stuff from it, and just so happened to only put out, IIRC, wreckage and scorpy), and then hurried off to the trading cards, where he grabbed whole boxes of something. I'm thinking he was a scalper, considering the cards thing. If not, mr. fat dude, I'm sorry, but my mom is getting your bumblebee (painted black).
