Moods are for maintaining effects that you can't just get a huge amount of at once, and for automatically removing detrimental effects while auto-adventuring. For example, snowcone effects. I used to use it to maintain my blue tongue when item farming, and it would automatically pop another snowcone whenever it ran out.

Another good trigger I like to use is - 'Whenever I get Beaten Up, use 1 tiny house.' (If you have the skill, Tongue of the Walrus works, too.) That way, if you happen to get beaten up, but you have an effect that heals you after every adventure, Mafia won't gently caress you over by continuing to adventure with reduced stats. Similar triggers for A Little Bit Poisoned, Somewhat Poisoned, and Really Quite Poisoned to use an anti-anti-antidote are useful as well in some areas, such as the Sleazy Back Alley and the Upper Chamber.

I never actually bothered to learn how moods work, until recently. I just wrote anything like that I thought I'd need into ASH scripts.

It seemed perfectly sensible at the time.

This is especially true against the NS, even moreso in hardcore. I just managed to beat her yesterday (29 days into my first NS13 hardcore run) by getting my moxie up to 206 (one[?] point shy of being completely unhittable by her) and spamming saucegeysers and popping MMJs as necessary. I only had to heal once, and I managed to slip my one red pixel potion through her block. (My natural moxie was like 172, and I managed the rest with equipment.)

Really? I know the last run I did as a Pastamancer, I was into level 14 when I did it, didn't have any problems. Just upped spell damage and set about with the two highest spells, and my trusty NPZR. Ripped right through her. I think it only took two or three tries. Though that one does have a few skills banked, like Dual Funkslinging (really handy here, even after NS13).

And I'd say that the myst classes are tough to play, but pretty powerful once you know the ropes. I'm convinced now that Entangling Noodles is one of the most useful skills in the game.

With Ode, they were probably the best cheap drinks in the game. They were 4 adventures per drunkenness, same as TPS drinks. And since they were only 2 drunk a piece, it would get a lot more out of Ode.

I'm not really surprised.

I can't say I agree with that. Certainly, you can do just fine with a leprechaun, but there's a pretty substantial difference.

So far, all the new Crimbo crap is just rehashes of old Crimbo crap, with a technological slant instead of a spooky one. Is it worth making more than one of anything but the new doll house? (One of everything for collection purposes.) Also, I'm currently level 16 in hardcore, and the elves are kicking my rear end pretty well. Is it worth ascending into softcore to maximize my Crimbo farming? (I was shooting for GMS, but frankly I'm sick of it.)

Well, that depends on the market, doesn't it? What exactly do you plan to do?

Well, that is what I thought. I figured that I screwed up somehow by building the gun early when I had leftover parts and likely more to come.

My early experiments with the power 0 1h CBFG didn't do well in Crimbotown but did well elsewhere. When I unequipped it to do another weapon it was still power 0 and a 1h item(melee). once I logged out and logged back in again later in the day suddenly it was a 150 power and a 2h ranged weapon. It also gives stench and hot damage now. What the hell happened when I was logged out?

Just the usual brand of screw-up. Its how it should be now.

It is by far, but you have to stretch combat out to all 30 rounds. On a good day, I can clear 350k, though around 300k is average.

I pull in around 230-260k a day with the NPZR at the castle.

Sair, have you compared NPZR (post-nerf) Castle farming with leprechaun Castle farming? I just assumed the NPZR wasn't worth it anymore, but I never tested it.

It works out almost exactly the same. Obviously, NPZR has a little more fluctuation, but it all evens out in the end. Plus, you get tons of MP for buffs/summons, which is nice.

Edit: I haven't tried a pixie-chaun, as I don't have one. That might do a little better.

I like the comparison Jick makes there though, because those two things are exactly alike right? I mean, after all, we all have that one tat that gives us +15 to all stats right? Or how about that one that gives sublime resistance to spooky when you use it? Or how about that tattoo set that when you equip all of them you get +64 to ML, item drops, and meat drops?

Jick was amazingly defensive about that. Far more than I have seen in quite some time.

They were only nerfed once, as far as I know, so that they no longer give meat after the 10th round of combat. But even then, they very slightly edge out the bonus given by a leprechaun per adventure at the Castle, which is the best place to farm meat for either. It's only an extra 50 meat/adventure or so now according to the KoL Wiki with both at 50 pounds, though. And I don't know for sure, but with an edge that slim, a fairychaun would probably be better than an NPZR if you count the autosell price from the extra items, I bet.

The NPZR also gives a ton of MP. Really useful if you incorporate your script to take advantage of that.

MP restored is an interesting factor, but if you're farming, you could easily drop some meat towards a buffbot. NObot would give you Polka/Empathy/Lyric for ~1 meat/turn. Tetsudinata and kolabuff are a bit worse, but still seem to be around 3 meat/turn for the farmer's combo.

This is why mine summons hearts and divine items. And buffs if I need, I guess.

So where's the best place to farm these days?

My friend is trying to turn me onto underwater farming, but I gotta spend like 50,000-70,000 (getting fishy, stat potions, MP items, etc) just to adventure there. The Wreck didn't really seem all that great, and I did Reefs of Madness and actually made out fairly well, except I had to depend on big meat drops and tons of time selling them in the mall.

Castle seems pretty crap these days, lots of adventure waste on noncombats and crap items.

I might try madness reefs again, I dunno, I think I cleared 200,000 for one night there.

I can generally net 230-250k with NPZR at the castle. I basically have all the fancy gear though, which helps. If you have Olfaction, Icy Peak can do pretty well too.
